Brie appetizers are always so popular during the holiday season! These crowd pleaser appetizers are perfect for holiday parties and sharing (hello girls night!). So if you’re looking for a flavourful twist to a classic holiday appetizer, this Cranberry Orange Baked Brie with Honey and Candied Pecans is a delicious option!

About this recipe:
This recipe was inspired by my recipe for Candied Pecans, I thought they would be SO DELICIOUS on a warm, ooey gooey Brie, and I wasn’t wrong. Then I took it up a notch and paired them with the holiday favourite flavour combo of cranberry and orange. And a generous drizzle of honey to top it all of…yum.

So melty, gooey and delicious.
The melty cheese of this warm appetizer is delicious scooped onto slices of fresh bread or crackers. It’s also great with fruit like pear and apple slices.

Putting it all together:
This recipe is so simple, but I thought it might be helpful to give you a visual on how I put it together.

#1 Score the white rind of the Brie wheel.

#2 Add chopped fresh cranberries.

#3 Sprinkle on orange zest and add a squeeze of fresh orange juice.

#4 Add the chopped candied pecans, drizzle with honey and bake.

Cranberry Orange Baked Brie Recipe Tips
- CANDIED PECANS: These homemade brown sugar candied pecans are so easy to make and are SO delicious on this baked Brie. I make a batch of these nuts for snacking and keep a few for this Brie appetizer. You can also buy pre-made candied pecans or use regular pecans, but the sweetness of the candied ones really adds to the flavour of this appetizer.
- BRIE CHEESE: I use a 6 inch creamy Brie cheese like double cream or triple cream, or Camembert. You can use a larger Brie wheel, just add more toppings. Also, use a Brie wheel at room temperature if possible, it melts more evenly in the oven.
- SCORING THE TOP OF THE BRIE: Scoring the top of the Brie wheel before baking allows the cheese inside the wheel to melt out, making for an ooey gooey delicious appetizer. Refer to the picture above to see what that looks like.
- HONEY: Honey is so delicious with Brie cheese. You can also use maple syrup.
- ORANGE: This recipe calls for 2 tsp of fresh orange zest, but you can use as much as you like. I also use the same orange for the squeeze of orange juice. Another delicious option is to add a spoonful of orange marmalade if you have it.
- CRANBERRIES: I prefer to use fresh cranberries because I like the tartness of them, but you can also use chopped dried cranberries. OR if you have any leftover cranberry sauce, you can use a scoop of that!
- BAKING DISH: You can use a Brie baking dish or just place the cheese wheel on a parchment paper lined baking sheet, or any oven proof serving dish.
- DIPPERS: Offer a selection of fresh or toasted baguette slices and/or crackers. It’s also really delicious scooped onto pear slices or apple slices.
- GARNISH OPTION: You can garish the finished recipe with some chopped fresh rosemary.
- LEFTOVERS: Store any leftovers (if you have any!) in an airtight container in the fridge, then just reheat in the microwave.
