This Winter Sangria recipe is the perfect winter drink. It is so delicious…red wine with Grand Marnier, brandy, pomegranate juice and fresh fruit all mixed together into one very festive and flavourful drink! I’m also sharing a non-alcohol version as well.
This year for the holidays my husband & I wanted to mix up a festive drink we could enjoy at Christmas and all of the gatherings we plan to attend leading up to the big day. So we decided to make a Winter Sangria…full of fresh fruit! There’s just something about red wine, juice and cut up winter fruit that just feels like the perfect drink to enjoy over the holidays and into the bleak winter season.
Take it to Parties!
So this past weekend we mixed up 2 batches of this sangria recipe to take over to our friends annual Ugly Christmas Sweater party, and hoped that others would enjoy it as much as we did. And by the end of the night, there was not a drop left, in fact, we were reduced to eating the fruit. But let me tell you a little secret here…the fruit is the best part, it’s basically a wine soaked fruit salad and it’s amazing…the apples are my absolute favourite. Divine.
Mmmm
I also like to add cranberries as a festive garnish, but don’t eat them…I mean you can, but they taste bitter. They look great in holiday drinks though!
Don’t you just want to fill a glass? There’s just something about fresh fruit, juice and wine that screams winter fun! And after a glass or two of this sangria, you’re guaranteed fun. 😉
So gather your ingredients and get your friends and family together, because tis the season to celebrate.
And don’t forget your fork and spoon…you’re going to need them.
Double the Recipe!
If you’re planning on having a crowd, you’ll want to double this recipe! Also, don’t be afraid to play around with it…add more pomegranate juice or fruit that you like. Serve it in a self serve punch bowl or jugs, and use red wine glasses if your party is more formal, or use mason jars for an informal gathering! Just have fun with it!
