Simple Fall Mantel
Put together a Simple Fall Mantel using cozy rich colours, natural elements, candles, pumpkins and DIY wreath!
Hello friends! Today I’m participating in the Seasonal Simplicity Fall blog hop series hosted by my friend Krista of Happy Housie, and today we’re sharing our fall mantels. There are so many ideas to inspire your own decorating, so be sure to visit all the links at the bottom of this post! And if you missed my previous post as part of this series, make sure to check out my DIY Fall Wreath here. xo
It’s Fall Y’all!
I love the change over in seasons…especially the transition of summer to fall. I happily tucked away all of my summer decor and have replaced it with all the coziness of autumn. Bring on all the pumpkins, leaves, and cozy blankets. I love the feeling of decorating for a new season.
Start with the Mantel.
When I start my home decorating for each season, I like to start with the mantel. Because it’s the main focus of our living area, the mantel sets the decorating tone for the rest of this space.
Traditional Fall Colours
When I started my decorating I knew that I really wanted to use traditional fall colours in my home…cozy oranges, rust, reds, mustard yellow and brown. All the rich and beautiful colours of an autumn world. I’m craving tradition right now and I’m sure that has something to do with the state of the world, so I’m just going to go with it.
Put a wreath on it!
So the first thing I did was place my DIY Fall Wreath as the focus on my mantel (I originally had it hanging on my front door, but decided I liked it better on my mantel). The colours and textures set the tone for the rest of my mantel and fireplace shelves. Once the wreath was placed I added some candles…because candles make all seasons feel extra cozy…and I couldn’t resist these orange ones that I found at Indigo! Then I added a few little things to fill in the gaps.
Go with the flow.
I didn’t add much decor to my actual mantel because it’s not just my mantel on this wall. I actually view my mantel as the whole wall in my living room which consists of the mantel itself but also the white built-in shelving on each side of my stone fireplace. So as I decorate, I also add decor to the shelves.
Tying it all together.
To tie everything together I added some mini grey, green and orange pumpkins and stacked some wood. I love how it looks.
Simple and pretty.
There’s just something so cozy about stacked wood.
Now that my mantel is put together, I’ve been busy decorating the rest of my home and I can’t wait to share it with you! Stay tuned for more autumn decorating fun.
PIN IT for later!
