Want to set a spooky dinner table for Halloween? I’m sharing some ideas and a simple DIY that I think you will love!
Spooky and delicious = spookalicious!
I love setting the table for different occasions…fall, Christmas and yes, even Halloween! It’s such a simple way to add fun to the different seasons. Every year we have a Halloween themed dinner, so why not set the table for it? My kids LOVE it…and truthfully, so do I!
It all started with the plates.
This entire Halloween table setting was inspired by this set of Royal Stafford Halloween plates that I found at Winners. I’ve seen them here over the years and never bought them, but this year I decided it was time. They were so reasonably priced that I couldn’t pass them up. With plates in the cart, it was time to get setting the table!
Shop your home.
Once I had my plates, I decided to shop my home for as much Halloween decor as I could…it’s amazing what we have already and might not even realize it. I used silver chargers from my New Year’s Eve Table, cutlery I bought several years ago from Michaels, and all the skulls and table decor are from my Halloween stash…you might recognize a lot from my Halloween mantel!
Putting it all together.
Setting this table was really very simple…I laid out a Halloween table cloth, set out my plates, cutlery and glasses. Then filled the centre of the table with a few skulls and skeleton candles. The real star of the show though…the floating candles…
Floating Candle Centrepiece.
Look up, look way up. These floating candles are my most favourite thing about this Halloween table setting. I was inspired to add them to my decor after seeing them on my friend Christina’s Halloween mantel. They give spooky, haunted, Harry Potter vibes, and I LOVE it.
Everything you want to know
about the floating candles:
- I bought them (this is an affiliate link) here on amazon.
- They are battery operated (AA batteries).
- I hung them with fishing line, hanging them at different lengths.
- They lightly flicker.
- They’re awesome.
You should see them at night!
These floating candles look especially great at night…they cast off a soft glow, they’re so pretty. And they softly flicker and lightly sway, they’re just fabulous! You can see them in action in the video in this post (or over on my Instagram reel!)

My Halloween Table Setting!
I hope you love this table setting as much as we do! It’s so simple to create and everyone will love it, I promise. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect…if there is any time for imperfection, it’s Halloween!
