I’m always looking for delicious and festive cookies to make during the holiday season, and these truffle cookies are a perfect addition to my cookie baking rotation. They’re easy to make, everyone loves chocolate and they’re so pretty. I also like that they can be made ahead of time and frozen to bring out later. Also, I should mention that I have a great printable Christmas kitchen planner you can use to get ready for the holidays, and a section to keep track of your cookie baking.

Chocolate Snowball Cookies Recipe Tips:

  • CHOCOLATE: Use a good quality unsweetened baking chocolate square (1 ounce).
  • COCOA POWDER: Use a good quality unsweetened cocoa powder or dutch process cocoa powder. The more flavourful, the better the chocolate taste.
  • STORAGE: Keep these cookies in an airtight container.
  • FREEZING: These cookies freeze well. Store in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to 2 months. You may need to reroll or dust them in more cocoa powder before serving.
  • SERVING TIP: Right before serving you can give these cookies a little extra dusting of cocoa powder so they look nice!
