About these Easter Jello Whips:
Jello Whips are a light and fluffy dessert made with jello and Greek yogurt. These ones are made with layers of lemon jello and grape jello, and are delightful for Easter dessert.
Pretty for Easter
Aren’t these so pretty? I love the soft yellow and purple…they kind of remind me of Peeps, and the kids said they look like Easter eggs. I’d say that’s good reason enough to make them for Easter!
Lemon + Grape = Delicious
The lemon and grape flavour combination is sooooooo good! These two flavours go perfectly together. Fresh and springy.
Easter Jello Whips Recipe Tips:
- Jello: You can use sugar free lemon jello (a ~ 9 g or 10 g box) or regular jello (85 g box). I tried to find sugar free grape jello, but they don’t make it, so you will have to use regular grape jello (85 g box).
- Make sure the Jello dissolves: Make sure the jello powder dissolves in the water or it won’t set properly. Stir well until it dissolves before adding the yogurt.
- Yogurt: Use plain Greek yogurt.
- Let them sit! These jello whips need to chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours (cover them). You can make them ahead of time too and keep them covered in the fridge overnight. See below for more details on assembly.
- Toppings: Serve with a dollop of whipped cream.
- Why are there bubbles on the top? This just happens because the mixture is made in the blender which adds air. If you let the mixture settle about 10 minutes before pouring it into serving cups, many of the bubbles will disappear. But honestly, they’re no big deal, these jello whips are delicious nonetheless.
- Why are there 2 layers? Again, this just happens because the mixture is made in the blender and the lighter portion with bubbles moves to the top. I think this actually makes them even more pretty!
