Easy Lemon Mousse
Hello friends!
Is it just me or are you over winter? Over it. It’s officially the doldrums of winter. But I’m trying not to think about it and carry on…spring will be here soon enough. And I have to admit, I am feeling refreshed and inspired after a beautiful and relaxing spa weekend with friends. I’m still smelling tropical flowers and dreaming of massages…I could get used to that life! 😉 I can’t wait to tell you all about it, but that’s for another day. So for now, I will power on through our very wintery winter.
And I will start putting lemons in ALL the things. It’s that time of year where I start craving lemons. Every single year. There is something so summery and refreshing and inspiring about lemons don’t you think? Lemon loaves, lemon tarts, lemonade, even lemons at dinner! Lemons all the time.
They’re like little balls of sunshine. And they taste like that too. So when the lemon urge struck once again, I made an Easy Lemon Mousse.

This dessert is so simple to make. And I bet it would be good with any kind of citrus fruit…oranges or grapefruits or limes. Hmmm I just might have to try a different combo!
This recipe is the perfect winter pick me up and I hope you enjoy it!

I am tired of this winter weather as well!
Where did you get the little glass jars your lemon mousse is in?
Stay warm!
Hi Gena! They are Weck jars that I found at Crate & Barrel, but I’m sure you can get them in other places as well.
Lemon mmmmmmm… anything lemon makes my mouth water!
Mine too! I love lemon!
This is beautiful, Jo-Anna! I really want to make this!
Thanks Tara!
I’m salivating just looking at these! Seems nice and simple, dangerous territory where cream is concerned – I’m too easily tempted!
Me too! Anything with cream is dangerous….but SO good!
Thank you for your recipe! I made this today using tartlets and pistachios and it’s worked out perfect, they’re super tasty!
Thanks again,
Amiee

What is the shelf life? How long will it last in the fridge?
I think it’s best eaten within a day or two!
Can I use this for a cake filling? sounds delicious
I’m not sure…it’s quite airy and might turn watery. I might use it as a topping or icing though!
Hello, They look amazing, can I substitute Milk or even soy milk for the whipping cream. I’m allergic to cream.
The whipped cream kind of holds it all together. Maybe try a pudding or whipped coconut milk?
Thank you for making your recipes printable.
I made this recipe last night, minus throwing any berries into it. In fact, I just finished eating the mousse now.
It was mmm mmm good!
Can this recipe be made ahead of time and refrigerated? Thanks.
Hi Candy! It can definitely be made 1 day ahead of when you want to serve it. Just keep them tightly sealed in the fridge. Enjoy!
Absolutely love it. I want to try with oranges . . . .
