10 Quick & Easy Sausage Dinner Recipes

Whether you’re looking for quick and easy sheet pan meals, soup, pasta, or breakfast for dinner, there’s nothing easier than these sausage dinner recipes!

Do you need some easy dinner ideas? Low-prep, quick-cook meals that don’t require you to spend all day in the kitchen? And budget friendly too? There’s nothing easier than sausage as a main meal ingredient! I’ve got lots of sausage dinner recipes that are sure to please, no matter your mood.

Let’s get to the recipes!

Sheet Pan Dinners

I love sheet pan dinners. They’re super easy to assemble, ready in about 30 minutes, and they’re a great way to use up bits and pieces from your fridge. Only have a few potatoes and a couple of lonely carrots and onions? Cut them up with some sausages and make a sheet pan dinner that everyone will love.

Quick, Easy, & Delicious

Sheet Pan Gnocchi with Italian Sausage

If you’re looking for a really quick and delicious dinner to feed your family, this Sheet Pan Gnocchi with Italian Sausages is a great option! Made with simple ingredients, this meal comes together easily and can be on your table in about 30 minutes. This sheet pan is loaded with potato gnocchi, crumbled hot Italian sausage, bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes, then finished off with mini Bocconcini cheese. Make sure to generously sprinkle the pan with freshly grated parmesan cheese and fresh basil when it’s done baking to really bring out the flavours of the roasted veggies and sausage chunks. SO, SO GOOD.

use your favourite sausage

25-Minute Sausage Sheet Pan Dinner

This is an incredibly versatile sheet pan dinner that can be made using almost anything you have in your fridge, great for when you might be stretched for ingredients. For example, if you only have a couple of sausages, cut them up into smaller pieces to make them go farther and make up the difference with extra cut vegetables. And, feel free to use whatever flavour sausage you have available! Smoked sausage would work great, and so would sweet Italian sausage. The variety is what makes this flexible recipe so delicious!

Breakfast For Dinner

Sausage is the perfect main ingredient for a lot of breakfast recipes. And there’s no reason you can’t serve breakfast sausage for dinner too! I’ve collected my favourite sausage-for-breakfast recipes that you can eat at any time of day.

A Quick one-Pan Dinner

Overnight Sausage and Egg Breakfast Bake

While this Overnight Sausage and Egg Breakfast Bake was (obviously) designed for an easy breakfast, it’s perfect for breakfast-for-supper too! If you want to eat it in the evening, simply put it together in the morning before you start your day (or at least 30 minutes before baking), pop it in the oven an hour before you want to eat, and voila! A delicious one-pan dinner. Filled with delicious white bread, eggs, and breakfast sausage, you could easily add extra veggies like spinach or peppers to make it a truly balanced meal.

Perfect busy weeknight dinner

Best Easy Breakfast Casserole Recipe

This is another delicious breakfast casserole sausage recipe that would be perfect for dinner! This combination of potatoes, sausage, cheese, peppers, yellow onion, cream, and spices is so filling and satisfying. I always serve it to rave reviews at my house! I normally use breakfast sausage when I serve it for breakfast or brunch, but you could make it more supper-ish with a different kind of meat, like chorizo sausage, spicy Italian sausage, or turkey sausage (ground sausage works best but you could also use chopped up sausage links). Store your leftovers in an airtight container and use them for kids’ lunches the next day or on a busy weeknight evening when you just don’t have time to cook. Perfect!

Hashbrowns make this dish even easier

Easy and Cheesy Hashbrown Breakfast Casserole

Are you looking for a way to make breakfast-for-dinner even more simple than the other recipes I’ve shared so far? Then this easy recipe is for you! It uses a package of hashbrowns instead of potatoes, so no worries about slicing, dicing, or shredding. Just open the package and dump it into the pan! This recipe calls for all kinds of other yummy ingredients such as eggs, milk, cheese, red and green peppers, onion, salt, and black pepper for seasoning, and of course the star of the show: sausage! Pork sausages work best (breakfast sausage is my personal choice), and you could even add a little ham or bacon to really make this recipe sing.

Other Sausage Dinner Ideas

This main dish meat is so versatile and can be used in so many other ways, from soup to sauce! Here are some more sausage dinner recipes that will suit your schedule and palate no matter what day of the week.

Hearty and Delicious

Tomato & Red Pepper Pasta with Italian Sausages

Are you a fan of spaghetti, but looking for a way to change it up a bit? This Tomato & Red Pepper Pasta with Italian Sausages is it! I usually have all the ingredients on hand (just like regular spaghetti), and it still takes less than one hour to get it on the table. The secret to the deliciousness is the homemade tomato sauce: a combination of red wine, tomato paste, and diced tomatoes is a great way to start! Basic seasonings work perfectly well, and for a little change from regular sauce, you could add fennel seeds and red pepper flakes for a unique and yummy flavour. Spoon it over cooked pasta (we like spaghetti but any pasta shape cooked al dente will do) and enjoy a truly hearty dinner!

A Perfect Summer Meal

Veggie & Sausage Shish Kabobs

These Veggie and Sausage Shish Kabobs are easy and delicious. Fresh vegetables and your favourite hearty sausage cooked on the barbecue over medium heat make for a perfect summer meal! We usually end up with zucchini, red onion, and red bell pepper on the skewer with spicy sausage chunks. Get out your cutting board and slice up any fresh veggies you’ve got in your fridge! Serve your kabobs on a bed of cooked rice (white or brown rice) or on their own.

A great Warm-Up on a Chilly Day

Easy Sausage Potato Soup

This Easy Sausage Potato Soup is hearty, flavourful, and so delicious, and can be on your table in less than an hour. Plus, it’s a one-pot soup with almost no messy cleanup. Does it get much better than that? This soup has everything you need for a full meal: sausage, vegetables, broth, and cheese! It will definitely fill bellies and put smiles on faces.

Try Something Different this weekend

Easy Pizza Fondue

I love a good deconstructed dinner recipe, and this Easy Pizza Fondue is one of the best! And fondue is so much fun. I mean, who doesn’t love dipping things in delicious, melty cheese? So, gather together your favourite dipping cheese (add one tsp garlic powder for some extra zing), and anything that reminds you of pizza and its toppings: crusty bread, cooked Italian sausages (don’t use raw sausages), grape tomatoes, pepperoni slices, mini meatballs, mushrooms, ham, pineapple, chunks of bell peppers, etc. This fondue treat makes for a complete meal any night of the week, although I recommend a slow weekend evening rather than a busy weeknight. This meal is sure to give you some great quality time as a family as well as a delicious and filling dinner.

A One-Pot Meal the Whole Family will love

Crustless Quiche

When I don’t know what to have for dinner, the first thing that comes to mind is this great recipe for Crustless Quiche! Milk and eggs make up the base, and then you can add a full cup of whatever else you want: crumbled or diced cooked sausage (of course!), cooked sweet potatoes, onions, peppers, or any other veggies you can find. This is a delicious one-pan meal the whole family will love and one of those easy sausage recipes that will make your life so much easier.
