Smoked Salmon & Dill Cream Cheese Flatbread (Smoked Salmon Pizza)

Delicious and Easy!

This Smoked Salmon Flatbread (you can also call it a smoked salmon pizza) is one of those recipes that looks fancy, but isn’t! In fact, you can put this tasty pizza together in about 15 minutes, making it perfect as a quick appetizer, snack or even a light lunch or dinner. Sometimes the easiest recipes are the best recipes.

Smoked Salmon & Dill Cream Cheese Flatbread (Smoked Salmon Pizza)

Recipe Tips:

  • Pizza Crust: Buy a pre-baked pizza crust for this recipe. You can find them in the baker or deli sections of your grocery store. White, whole wheat or even gluten free will work. Or you can make your own dough if you like…just bake the crust alone then let it cool before you add the rest of the ingredients and proceed with the recipe.
  • Cream Cheese: I like to use dill cream cheese for this pizza because dill is perfect with salmon. You can also use regular cream cheese if you like.
  • Capers: If you don’t like them, you don’t have to add them.
  • Option: You can add a touch of Dijon Mustard to the cream cheese mix, the flavour is fantastic…it adds a nice zing!
  • Feeding a small crowd: I doubled this recipe and made 2 pizzas which served 8 people comfortably.
  • Can I make this ahead of time? This flatbread is best served immediately, so I don’t recommend that you make it ahead of time.

  • 1/3 cup cream cheese at room temperature
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp sour cream
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
  • In a bowl combine cream cheese, mayonnaise and sour cream. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Add dill and mix.
  • Spread the cream cheese mix over the pizza base, leaving about a 1/2 inch along the edge of the crust.
  • Lay on the smoked salmon pieces, spreading it out so you are making 8 pizza slices.
  • Sprinkle on the red onion and capers.
  • Bake at 450 degrees for about 8-10 minutes. The crust should slightly puff up and be slightly browned. Watch carefully so that it doesn’t burn!

    1. Hi Ariella! I think it would be just fine…I might just let it sit for about 15 minutes at room temperature right before you serve it though.
