Pretty Fall Porch

Welcome to my Pretty Fall Porch!  I hope you find some inspiration to welcome friends and family to your home for the coziest season of all.  Hello fall!

Today I’m excited to be joining a group of 25 bloggers and we are sharing our fall porch tours!  Thank you to Krista of Happy Housie for organizing.  Make sure to check out all the fall porches in the links at the bottom of this post!  xo

This is the strangest fall in recent memory.  It’s like it switched from summer to winter overnight, in fact we’ve already had snow!  I was SO looking forward to a warm and sunshiny fall…oh well…Mother Nature had other plans I guess.  The one nice thing about the temps being cool is that it’s been inspiring for my fall decorating.  I didn’t feel like I was rushing the seasons by pulling out all of my fall decorations. Instead I just embraced it with open arms. I got busy decorating the interior of my home for fall, then I turned my attention to my front porch.  I always like to welcome friends and family with a pretty porch.  Come and have a look!

I never really have a plan when it come to my decorating.  Sometimes I’ll see something like flowers, or a pillow or some decoration that will suddenly inspire how I’m going to decorate.

This year for my porch it all started with a poofy maroon pumpkin and a giant pot of purply coloured mums.

Pumpkins and an apple basket full of fall leaves

Then I stumbled upon some grey and white pumpkins at a local farm and things just went from there.

All the pumpkins!

I bought as many pumpkins as I could…I think I ended up with about 8. Honestly, if they weren’t so expensive I would have bought about 20 more…I have a pumpkin weakness. Then I paired them up with more white and blue pumpkins that I bought last year for my fall mantel.  All the pumpkins.

Then I added some fairy lights and sprigs of Dusty Miller…I love the soft greys and blues together.

Pretty pretty pretty

It’s all in the details!

Because I can’t resist the leafy wreath I made a few years ago I hung it on my door again this year.  Then I finished things off with a cozy plaid fall blanket, some blue ribbon on my flowers to tie in with the colour of the pumpkins, and added a few baskets and fall decorations I already had.  I love how it all came together.

I especially love how nice everything looks at night…I could have fairy lights everywhere!

  1. Hello Lady! I love your pretty porch and I hear ya, give me all the pumpkins – except they cost HOW much? Gah! As Bud would say, pump those breaks! 😉 I’m also a fan of fairy lights all over, it just casts the perfect glow on those gorgeous pumpkins, simply lovely!
