And is there any other sweet treat more associated with this holiday than chocolate? So, I’ve collected some of my favourite Easter chocolate recipes to help you fill your Easter brunch or dinner dessert table and complete your Easter celebration! You will find cakes, cookies, and a few things in between. They all have simple ingredients and easy-to-follow recipes, and there’s sure to be something for the chocolate lover at your gathering!

Let’s get to the Easter recipes!

Cakes

Let’s start with the classics, shall we? One of the best things about a holiday weekend is the possibility of cake! I’ve compiled a list of my favourite cakes and cupcakes that I think are perfect show-stopping desserts for Easter dinner.

Perfect for kids to decorate

The BEST Chocolate Cake in a 9×13 Pan

This rich chocolate cake is topped with a creamy chocolate buttercream frosting, perfect for all occasions (including Easter!). It’s baked in a 9×13 pan for easy serving, too! The best thing about this cake is that sprinkles of different kinds can really dress it up for any and all themes. So, get out your pastel sprinkles and make this the perfect Easter dessert recipe

Pretty and Delicious

Chocolate Cupcakes with Pink Marshmallow Buttercream

Nothing says “spring dessert” to me like pink icing roses! These Chocolate Cupcakes with Pink Marshmallow Buttercream are a delicious and pretty treat. They are my go-to recipe for parties and special occasions because they’re always so chocolatey, and everyone loves them. Plus, if you have a Wilton IM tip, you can make the rose-shaped icing topping with my easy tutorial video (if I can do it, anyone can). Plus, you can change the icing colour to pale yellow, fresh green, or any other Easter colour that suits your tablescape style!

Rich & Chocolatey

Chocolate Bundt Cake

I love Bundt cakes. Everything about them! They’re delicious, gorgeous, and so easy to make. This Chocolate Bundt Cake is no exception! It’s moist, chocolatey, and perfectly fudge-y, which makes it a pretty addition to your special occasion Easter meal. It is a decadent chocolate cake that I choose not to frost. But, it goes well with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and fresh berries like strawberries or raspberries on the side. Versatile AND delicious!

Perfect for any special occasion

The Most Chocolatey German Chocolate Cake

German Chocolate Cake has to be one of my favourite cakes of all time. It is such a rich and decadent chocolate cake, and with the addition of delicious coconut pecan caramel frosting layered throughout and covering the top too, it is the perfect cake for Easter dinner.

A Perfect Old-Fashioned Cake REcipe

Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream Icing

Are you craving a good old-fashioned chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting? If you love chocolate cake as much as I do, then this recipe won’t disappoint. It’s moist, chocolatey, and SO flavourful. It has a secret ingredient: coffee! It’s no secret in the baking world that coffee intensifies chocolate flavour, and it’s certainly true for this recipe. Add some pastel sprinkles and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and you’ve got the perfect Easter dinner dessert.

The ultimate holiday indulgence

Chocolate Cream Cheese Cupcakes

These Chocolate Cream Cheese Cupcakes are rich and delicious, and so much easier than traditional cheesecake! Chocolate and cream cheese are a match made in heaven. After all, what’s better than a rich chocolate cupcake with a creamy cream cheese filling? I think the white-on-black is cheerful enough, but if you want to add an extra bit of Easter flair, feel free to add sprinkles or Easter candy to make this cupcake recipe feel like an authentic Easter cake.

SO rich and delicious!

Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies

If you love brownies and cheesecake then you’ll definitely LOVE these Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies! I’m not sure there’s any more delicious combination than fudgey brownies with cream cheese…especially warm out of the oven with vanilla ice cream! These brownies have rich chocolate flavour with cheesecake in every bite…so so good. Dress them up for Easter by pressing chocolate eggs into each brownie.

Cookies

Let’s not forget the other classic dessert…cookies! Cookies can be festive, fancy, or just simple comfort food. I’ve collected a variety of cookies that will work as Easter dessert recipes no matter how much (or how little) effort you want to put in!

Soft, Chewy, and so Chocolatey

Cookies and Cream Double Chocolate Cookies

These Cookies and Cream Double Chocolate Cookies are delicious! Adding Cookies n’ Cream chocolate bar chunks to a chocolate cookie recipe makes this dessert feel festive and unique. These cookies are soft, chewy, and SO chocolatey. This is one of those homemade treats that is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Customize for easter!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

One thing I find challenging about cookie-baking (especially around the holidays) is how long it takes to bake all the batches of dough. That’s why I’m including these Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars in this roundup of easy Easter desserts! These bars are soft, chewy, and chocolatey. Fill one pan with the cookie dough, and you get 40 tasty cookie bars all at once. Usually when I bake these I use regular M&Ms, but you can easily customize this recipe for Easter (or any of your favourite holidays) with different kinds of candy. Pastel M&Ms or broken-up chocolate eggs would be perfect additions to make this recipe feel just right for Easter Sunday dessert.

The perfect cookie for Spring

German Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies

These German Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies are chewy chocolate cookies with a delicious white chocolate and coconut pecan centre. The centre dip is filled with white chocolate and coconut goodness, giving out bird’s nest kind of vibes, which is perfect for spring. This is a decadent treat that is perfect for a casual Easter dessert.

A Chocolate Chip Cookie with a Twist

Chocolate Chip Cookies + Easter Smarties

It’s true that I developed this recipe with Valentine’s Day and pink smarties in mind, but the brilliance of coloured candy means you can just change the candy for a whole new holiday look! I love this recipe because it is a regular chocolate chip cookie recipe with a twist. This makes it easy and stress-free when you have a lot of other things going on, like creating the rest of your holiday meal! Just bake your cookies like usual and then press some Easter-coloured Smarties into the top and, voila! You have a pretty, festive, and easy classic dessert.

Easy, Pretty, and So tasty

Chocolate Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches

Here’s one for the kiddos at your Easter table! I came up with these for a birthday party idea, but of course, we know that with a colour change, they are perfect for Easter too. I made these sandwiches with double chocolate cookies, filled them with vanilla ice cream, and decorated the sides with colourful chocolate candies. Easy, pretty, and so tasty!

No-Bake Treats

I get it. Sometimes you just can’t handle the idea of spending one more minute of the day standing over a hot stove, even for Easter dinner dessert reasons! Fortunately, there is a better way. I’ve collected a bunch of my favourite no-bake treats that are still Easter dinner worthy. These all take just a few minutes to prepare and will still wow your guests!

so simple + chocolatey!

If you’re looking for a rich and delicious treat, this no fail fudge recipe is perfect! No fancy ingredients, no candy thermometer and no double boiler required, just simple and tastes so delicious. And so cute for Easter! Just press mini chocolate eggs into the top of the fudge before cooling, then cut into squares.

Make this one with the kids

2-Ingredient White Chocolate Easter Bark

This 2-Ingredient White Chocolate Easter Bark is simple and perfect for Easter baskets or an after-dinner Easter treat! All you do is melt the chocolate and put your candy on top. Let the chocolate cool, and then crack it into pieces to enjoy. It really doesn’t get any easier than that! It’s a great recipe to make with kids, and it’s perfect for leftover Easter candy.

A Chocolate Variation of a Classic Dessert

3-Ingredient Chocolate Marshmallow Fluff Dip

Who says Easter dinner always has to be serious? Some of the best Easter desserts are just for fun, and this chocolate variation of my classic marshmallow fluff dip is no exception. Your taste buds will thank you for making this dip. It’s light, fluffy, and chocolatey, and perfect served with chunks of angel food cake or fresh fruits like strawberries, bananas, or apple slices (sprinkled with lemon juice to prevent browning, of course). A really lovely finish to any holiday meal!

Something fun to Wow Guests

Chocolate Birds Nests

Do you need a last minute Easter activity to do with the kids who are coming to dinner? These Chocolate Birds Nests double as dessert too! Dip a spoon in melted chocolate chips or Nutella, add sprinkles, and top with Mini-Eggs or other candy-coated chocolate Easter egg candies. Eat as-is or use as a stir stick for hot chocolate. The perfect chocolate Easter dessert!

A Sweet addition to your easter

Chocolate-Covered Potato Chips

This is a fun one! These chocolate-covered potato chips are a fun and delicious addition to the Easter holidays. They’re salty, sweet, and chocolatey all at once. I originally made them with a coating of crushed peppermint for Christmas, but you can use any crushed Easter candies for the right vibe for spring! This is an easy, no-bake dessert that comes together in minutes! A perfect holiday snack.

Not just for Valentine’s Day

Easy Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

Who says chocolate-covered strawberries are only for Valentine’s Day? Certainly not me! These sweet treats are perfect for an Easter crowd, and if you can use a microwave, you can make them in minutes with no hassle. Dipped in rich milk or dark chocolate and then drizzled in white, they look so much fancier than they really are! You can even get creative with the white chocolate drizzle and use food colouring to make it pastel for an Easter theme.

One Last Idea

Looking for something that’s not a cake, not a cookie, and not quite a no-bake treat either? I have the perfect idea.

Flavourful buns from your bread machine
