I can’t quite recall how I came across your blog but very happy I did! I like the to read the personal side of a bloggers life along with recipes (who can’t use a new recipe in their rotation) and all the other stuff like crafts, DIY projects and home tours. I really like the recipe format you use! Some blogs have soooo many pictures before you get to the actual recipe! I will keep reading as long as you keep blogging! BTW, southeast Michigan here 🙂
Hi Jan! I’m glad you found my blog too! Thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment – they all mean so much to me!
I’m Beth.. I live in southwestern NH. I blog over at Same Ole’ sCrap, which is a play on words .. because I didn’t want it to be a vulgar title, and I’m a scrapbooker (among other things: I’m also an artist, a knitter, a runner, a gardner, a hiker and a foodie). I hear you on picking a name that you can live with. I’ve had my blog for about 8 years or so now and I often wish I had picked something else. Live and learn right? I am a mom to two teens, one is a senior, heading off to college in the fall, which is nuts and the other will be 16 this summer and is a sophmore currently. I work in our town’s elementary school where I’ve been for 10 years now and I’m starting to consider doing something else with my life but I don’t know what just yet.
Hi Beth! I think the title of your blog is so great – it’s very witty! Thank you for sharing a piece of yourself with me!
I’m an older reader – for decades I have had to figure out my age every time I’m asked. I lost track some time in my 30s. I’m sometimes surprised I”m so young and sometimes I’m surprised I”m so old 😉
I’m from the Toronto ‘burbs and enjoyed this post. I struggle with being too open on my blog because my Mom told my aunts about my blog and they all read it so to admit that you are a complete and utter slob just might be too shocking for them. I leave my housekeeping skills off the blog, but otherwise my son and husband say that my blog sounds like me, which is a good thing. I’m going through a bit of blog angst these days so being more personal has given me something to think about. Thanks.
Hi Grace! I so know what you mean about the age thing – I too am surprised I’m so young, but not either! 😉
Thank you too – I’m glad you like my post! It really is hard to know how personal to get on a blog – I have family that reads mine too, so I do hold back a bit, plus I worry about alienating certain readers, and if I’m going to offend someone! But I feel better when I’m being real over here! It’s giving me back my passion for blogging! I say go for it! Get personal, mess and all! 😉
Hi Jo-Anna, just popping in to say I do love your blog. I enjoy reading about pretty much everything; DIYing, recipes, home decorating, crafting … I love that you seem very down to earth and real too.
I’ve stopped looking at many of the “everything in my life is perfect” blogs because they just leave me feelin’ like I don’t measure up you know ! 🙂
Cheers,
Elizabeth
Oh thank you Elizabeth! I really try hard to be real, and down to earth, because I really really try hard to be both of those things in my real life! Happy to have you reading along!
I love posts like this! It’s always fun to learn more about the blogger. I’m 35, from Northern California, although I lived in Vegas before I moved to Calgary 13 years ago. So yes, I am definitely solar powered! I’m sure you can imagine how much I HATE the winters here! Sometimes I feel like I’m much younger too. Last night I watched Heathers with my 14 year old stepdaughter. I’m always having her watch the movies I loved as a teen – like anything with Molly Ringwald!
You probably already know that I’m a big fan of your blog! Your pictures are gorgeous and I love all your posts. The recipes are great and I’ve made my fair share of them. None of them have disappointed. I look forward to reading along for years to come! =)
~ Catie
Thanks Catie! I bet you hate our winters! They really are hard – especially with days like today! Grrrrrr
And thank you so much for your kind words on my blog – I’m so happy to have you reading along!
We’ve been reading each other’s sites for years already, and I’m excited to see you get more “up close and personal”… {says the queen of oversharing}.
But that’s what differentiates us from magazines, a true voice with a backstory…I’ve been thinking the same thing lately…I haven’t been posting as much-the ebbs and flows of blogging…
Much love,
Nic
This recipe looks absolutely delicious!!! I cannot wait to try it;)
I prefer personal, otherwise we could just go to All Recipes and print out a recipe…that’s boring! I like knowing the story behind the recipe, or how you’re feeling while making the recipe:)
I am about to celebrate my 17th annual 29th Birthday…LOL! I grew up in Southern California and ended up in Easter Iowa of all places. You just never know where life is going to take you. I am hoping that life will take me back to CA at some point 🙂
I loved reading your post… both intriguing and disarming. I think more than anything else, we crave connection, and your invitation to connect drew me in. Actually, honestly, the cilantro lime coconut chicken drew me in from Happy Hour, initially…but then your post captivated me long enough to bookmark your blog. It will be fun to see what you realio trulio have to say in the coming weeks and months. Obviously, you have great taste in dinners. (=
Happy Spring! Lynaea @ EveryDayBloom.com
Thanks Lynaea! I really love being able to connect with people, and blogs are the perfect platform! I’m happy to have you here – I hope you enjoy it!
