Spooky Dollar Store Halloween Decorating Ideas
When decorating for Halloween on a budget, dollar stores are your friend! Here are some Simple and Spooky Dollar Store Halloween Decorating Ideas!
It’s easier than ever to decorate for Halloween with so many spooky and inexpensive options in dollars stores these days! Most dollar stores now have at least 2 aisles full of Halloween decorations, all ranging in price from $1 to $4, making decorating so affordable. I’m sharing some simple Halloween decorating ideas with items I found at our local dollar store, hoping to inspire your own decorating! Most items were purchased at Dollarama, but I’ve seen most, if not all items, or similar items, at the Dollar Store as well.
A Colony of Bats
I love these bats I found at our dollar store! These are plastic cut outs that you can adhere to any surface. I like to group them into a colony to make it look like they’re flying out of our fireplace.
Spooky Scary Skeletons
Is there anything that says Halloween more than skeletons?! There were so many skeleton options at our dollar store so I bought quite a few things like wall hangings, candle holders, and various little animal skeletons. So spooky but so good!
Creepy Crawly Hands
These hands are my absolute favourite…there is just something so scary about them! I’ve seen these at the dollar store 2 years in a row now and I’ve bought more each time…there were mummy hands, green witch hands and skeleton hands! Another great thing about these hands is that they are also tea light candle holders.
Skulls Everywhere
You can’t decorate for Halloween without adding some skulls to the mix! I found several types of skulls at the dollar store…plastic skulls, styrofoam skulls, big and small skulls, skulls on wall art, skulls as candles. Skulls everywhere!
These skull candles though, are my absolute favourite…you light them up and the red wax centre will drip out the eyeballs! Awesome.
Set the mood with Candles
I love lighting candles as the nights get dark…it makes everything so cozy. I used tapers I found at the dollar store, but I also bought some gorgeous black glitter flameless candles. Flameless tea light candles are great because you can turn them on and not worry about them.
Brew a Potion
These potions are such an easy addition to Halloween decor! I found a few beakers and lab glassware at our dollar store…I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw them…they sell out SO fast (I wanted a lot so I ended up buying more at Michaels). Then I filled them up with water coloured with purple food colouring to make it look like they’re filled with potions. Love them.
Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere
It’s not Halloween without pumpkins! The dollar store has a variety of different faux pumpkins that you can add to your decor.
Wrap a Boo-tiful Garland
I love to decorate my staircase for Christmas, so why not Halloween?! These black leaf garlands were at our dollar store and they are perfect for wrapping through the spindles on my staircase. I also added a string of purple fairy lights that I also bought at the dollar store. I love how this looks, especially all lit up at night!
Fairy Lights Everywhere
Battery-powered fairy lights are my favourite! I use them all year round in my decorating, including Halloween. I put together this simple skull light arrangement using fairy lights and plastic skull heads I found at the dollar store. SO simple and spooky!
Creepy Crawly Bugs
Dollar stores always have loads of plastic bugs in the Halloween aisle. I like to buy them to scatter around my living room. They’re so gross but so fun!
Eerie Halloween Wall Art
Why not switch out your artwork for spooky Halloween art! These dollar store pieces are a perfect scary addition.
Cauldrons
I saw this fantastic cauldron at the dollar store and I knew I had to have it! It’s perfect for holding trick-or-treating candy, but it’s also great for holding decorations like pumpkins.
Keep it simple and inexpensive with Dollar Store Halloween Decorating
I hope you found some Halloween decorating inspiration here. You don’t have to spend a lot to make your home spooktacular!
