My Spooky Halloween Mantel
I really love Halloween. Love, love, love it. Decorating is so fun, the costumes are fun and who can’t love all the candy (except maybe my pants…oh well, that’s what elastic waistbands are for….)!
Not that long ago I made up my mantel for fall, but with Halloween so close, it’s now time for the house to be spookified! As you may remember from my Halloween Vignette, this year I am loving all the glitter and glam decorations! And I realized that I was in need of a few things for the mantel! So off with my coupon, and to Michaels I went!
I was immediately drawn to the black and purple glitter…too too fun! But I also always try to ‘shop’ around my house when decorating. I used a lot of Halloween decorations I already had, mixed them up with some new things, and kept a lot of the same things I used to decorate for fall. Easy on the cheque book, and practical.
So here’s a little spooky tour….
Notice my glammed up white pumpkin? I also used pumpkins from my fall decor. The orange and white are perfect colour additions.
‘Eye’ see you! Hilarious! I found the inspiration for these eyeballs from BHG.
We love them, however there is an in-house debate about whether they look like eyeballs, or something else…hmmmmm
I couldn’t pass up these pretty glittered candelabras! They are perfect for Halloween and I love the purple gems hanging from them! I’m loving the pops of purple glitter for Halloween! Spooky and sparkly! And don’t you love the labels on the candle holders?! They are Martha Stewart’s Halloween bottle labels from Michaels.
Spookified my window with some webbing and a creepy crawlie!
Simple. Just the way I like it!
Happy Halloween Decorating All!
How gorgeous and fun is this!
Passing on a blogger award! http://babyonboard11.blogspot.com/2011/10/awards.html

I love what you’ve done with the mantle. I’ve spent some time browsing through your earlier entries. I’m so glad I did that. This is my first visit here and I really enjoyed the time I spent reading your posts. I hope you have a great day. Blessings…Mary

Love your mantel! It looks great. I really like the sparkly purple at Halloween too. That’s why I did my wreath like that. =)

Glitter makes every holiday from Halloween to Easter, better.
I think a trip to Michael’s is in order tomorrow once I drop the Moose at PreK…
Love the eyeballs!
I love the eyeballs! That’s such a neat idea, I’ll have to remember to do that next year! The whole mantle looks great too!

Lovey Love… the eyeballs are my favorite!
Great Mantel. Love your fall one too.
That window just works with so many different seasons and looks. Love it!
Hi Jo-Anna, what a great job you have done with your Halloween decorating. Let’s hope the weather holds up and we don’t get any snow, LOL I found and am now following you through My Romantic Home and hope to visit often. Please drop by my blog and perhaps you will follow me also. I would like that. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Chris
Brilliant! Your glammed up pumpkins are the best use for fancy old stockings I’ve seen…hurray for recycling! I love your eyeballs on the wall. Maybe dipping the top half in paint to give them eyelids, or adding giant sets of false paper eyelashes would clear up any, um, ambiguity about what they are. 😉
Thanks for sharing! I found you via Today’s Creative Blog…cheers!
Fantastic job! My weekly linky party–One Creative Weekend–has gone spooky this week in honor of my thirteenth party. If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll visit “One Creative Weekend” on OneCreativeMommy.com (open every Fri-Wed) and link up this idea and anything else you’d like to share. (You can include non-Halloween posts as well, but feel free to link up as many Halloween-themed posts as you like.) There are two categories—one for Halloween and one for everything else.
