Mother’s Day Brunch Table Setting

Create a simple and pretty Mother’s Day Brunch Table Setting your Mom will love! Or set a lovely table for spring brunch or Easter.

Mother’s Day is coming soon!  Do you have plans?  Do you go out for brunch or do you prefer to stay home?  If you are having brunch in, I’ve got a really pretty table setting idea that you and your mom will love!  Really, it’s all about keeping it simple and using as much as you can from your own home to set the table for a delicious brunch!

Simple is pretty!

I like to keep things really simple.  Because the reality is that you just don’t have a lot of room on the table for a tonne of decor.  I see these tablescapes (and I’m guilty of creating them too) that just have TOO MUCH STUFF.  The tables look wonderful all decorated with candles, flowers, baskets, wooden boxes full of succulents and on and on, but there is just no room for the delicious food you worked so hard to make.

Add flowers!

Even a bouquet of flowers can seem like too much, but they are easy to move.  I like to put a big bouquet (especially tulips) in the centre of the table so we can admire it while the meal is being prepared, then I move it off to the side to make room for the main star, the food!

Start with a neutral set of dishes.

Instead, I like to put more focus on the dishes and pretty linens.  If you’ve got a set of neutral dishes to start with, you can easily layer on linens and decorations.  I have this set of simple white dishes, and they are so easy to style with…and they work with any season or event as well.  I just change the linens to match the event.

It’s in the simple details.

For this Mother’s Day table setting, I found a pretty floral table runner to place down the centre of the table.  Then I added some linen napkins to match.  To finish off the simple setting, I made a handmade name card and added some freshly cut grapefruit…practical and pretty!

So simple. So pretty.

I just love how easy this table setting was to pull together, and to have it look pretty at the same time.  I’m really trying to make things less complicated, because the easier things are, the less stress we feel.  Plus, this table setting is SO simple, your kids can recreate it! It’s your day, so you should just sit back and relax, right?  😉
