Halloween on Netflix!

It’s the countdown to Halloween on Netflix!  Get your family together and watch your favourite spooky shows!

Ok, before we get to all of the Halloween spookiness streaming on Netflix, can we just talk about the picture above for a second?  Yes, the one with my dog wearing a witch hat.  What exactly possessed me to try and get a picture of my dog wearing a costume?  I’m not sure, but I’ll blame it on Halloween excitement and too many mini candy bars.  She wasn’t exactly a happy or willing participant, and things basically ended with Molly trying to eat my favourite witch hat.  Anyway, she’s become my official Netflix mascot around here.  She’s always with me, through endless episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and The Good Wife.  My little Netflix side kick.  Hence Molly in a witch hat…representin.

Anyway, moving on.  We need to talk about what’s streaming on Netflix for Halloween!

Halloween certainly has become larger than life since I was a kid.  It used to be a one day event, and now it’s weeks of anticipation.  But honestly I love it.   During the couple of weeks leading up to Halloween, my family takes the time to decorate the house, we shop for costumes, sometimes make crafts and definitely enjoy too many Halloween treats!  We also like to have a Halloween TV or movie night together and watch some of our favourite Halloween shows.  And now that we stream Netflix, we have SO many more spooky shows to choose from.

Truth be told, I cannot watch horror movies and my idea of a great Halloween movie is more along the lines of Hotel Transylvania or Ghost Busters.  I’m basically a chicken.  So our Halloween movie nights around here pretty family friendly.  But if you’re into scarier-the-better, there’s definitely something for you too.

Finding something to watch is really easy, as Netflix has added a Halloween Favourites section.  In this section you can find all kinds of spooky shows for all ages, including a special section for really young kids!  I love how Netflix has separated everything for us, so picking a show is easier than ever.
