This Creamy Dill Dressing is easy and so delicious. Wonderful drizzled over a simple green salad, mixed into a pasta salad, used as a dip, and more! Ready in 5 minutes.

If you’re looking for a simple homemade salad dressing this Creamy Dill Dressing is it. Made with just 4 simple ingredients: fresh dill, mayonnaise, milk and sugar. SO simple.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve this creamy dill dressing over a simple green salad. Our favourite is a green leaf lettuce salad with green onions (or chives) and more fresh dill. So good. You can also stir it into a bowl of pasta salad (add your favourite vegetables), drizzle it over sliced avocado, or use it for veggies + dip (cucumbers are the best!). It’s also delicious as a dipping sauce with baked salmon or roasted chicken. Or mixed into potato salad or spread it on sandwiches. So many delicious ways to enjoy this dressing!

Creamy Dill Dressing Recipe Tips

  • DILL: Use fresh dill for this recipe, it has the best flavour. Dried dill (about 2 teaspoons) can also be used, but you have to let the dressing rest for at least 1 hour before using it for best flavour.
  • MILK: Use 2% or 3% milk. You can also use buttermilk.
  • MAYO: Use real mayonnaise, not mayo dressing.
  • SUGAR: I add about 1 tsp of granulated sugar to this dressing, but you can adjust this to your taste (more or less or none).
  • MIXING: If you have one, use a hand blender to make this dressing, it makes the dressing so smooth and creamy. You can also use a whisk.
  • DRESSING THICKNESS: You can adjust the consistency of this dressing. If you find that the dressing is a little thick, feel free to add a little more milk to thin it out. If the dressing is too thin, add more mayonnaise.
  • DOUBLE THE BATCH for a bigger salad. I also like to double or triple the recipe and keep the dressing in a glass jar in the fridge to use throughout the week.
  • STORAGE: Keep in a glass jar with a lid, or any airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 or 4 days.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup milk (2% or 3%)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh dill (or small handful of dill)

Instructions

  1. Using a hand blender blend together the mayonnaise, milk, sugar and dill, until creamy.
  2. Drizzle over a salad of fresh greens.
  3. Refrigerate when not in use.
