Give me all the burgundy!

This year for fall I absolutely fell in love with burgundy all over again.  Suddenly this rich, gorgeous colour was everywhere and I wanted it all…pillows, blankets, faux pumpkins, flowers…all the burgundy.

Velvet, velvet everywhere!

So I scooped up some new velvet floral pillows in burgundy from Chapters, and a soft velvety burgundy blanket.  Then I used these pieces as the inspiration for the rest of my home fall decorating.

I even used the pillows as the inspiration for my big fall grapevine wreath, that I ended up hanging on my mantel.  I love the scale of it, and the way it ties in so nicely with the rest of my decor.

Then to finish of my simple fall mantel I added a some faux pumpkins in complimentary colours of white, cream, green, blue and purple…it’s all coming together now!

Put a Pumpkin On It

You may have noticed that there’s no shortage of pumpkins in my fall home this year 😉 and I love it.  I piled them on a shelf by my fireplace, piled more on a vignette, and I even snuck one under a cloche…I do love little decorating details like this.

Add Fresh Flowers or Seasonal Grasses

I always try to include fresh flowers in my seasonal home tours, and the flowers I found for this fall tour made my heart leap!  While visiting a local sunflower maze with my daughter, I noticed they had a separate flower garden where you could pick your own bouquet of flowers.  So when I saw all these gorgeous grasses and fall flowers I KNEW they’d be absolutely perfect!  Aren’t they amazing?!  Here they are in my living room…perfect flowers and colours for my fall home…I love how wild and rustic they are.

Thank you for coming for a tour!

I hope you enjoyed my cozy fall living room tour!  What I really hope though, is that you leave feeling inspired and wanting to add a touch of cozy to your own home this fall season.  Whether it be a few fall flowers or a collection of faux pumpkins.  Maybe a pillow (or dozen) and a soft blanket to your favourite spot on the couch.  That’s what it’s all about.  Happy fall! xo
