In partnership with Bed Bath & Beyond, I gave my master bedroom a Cozy and Warm Christmas Bedroom makeover, complete with new bedding and pillows! See how you can create your own cozy room!
It’s no secret that I’m loving traditional Christmas decor in my home this year…complete with tonnes of plaid, Buffalo check patterns, earthy elements and lots of red and green. I think over the last couple of years I’ve had the most fun with my Christmas decor, because I finally went back to what I love. If you’ve already taken my Holiday Home Tour, you will have seen my living room all decked out in this theme, and now I’ve taken it to the bedroom! Why not I say!?
For so many of us our bedrooms are the last to ever get decorated…most of the time I’m lucky if our room doesn’t have 3 kids, a dog and mountains of laundry in it. At Christmas it also becomes the room to store gifts, and the place to wrap them, so most of the time it’s just not that relaxing. And I can’t stand that, especially this time of year, with it being so hectic and busy. I need a space I can retreat to…and one that feels like a retreat. Sometimes creating a sanctuary can be as simple as adding a set of new bed sheets. If you really want to bring Christmas to your room, shop around your home for accessories like extra garlands, a small tree, some ornaments…just have fun with it.
This year I had some fun and added new cozy flannel bed sheets, a flannel duvet, festive pillows and some simple accessories.
Come take a look at my Cozy and Warm Christmas Bedroom!
Our master bedroom has gone from cool and summery, to cozy and ready for winter, and I’m absolutely in love. Even though I decorated it with the holidays in mind, the fabric, colours and patterns are really just perfect for our overall winter here. I plan on keeping these sheets and duvet cover on until March!
While I was shopping at Bed Bath & Beyond I saw these Buffalo checkered flannel sheets I knew I had to have them. I’m obsessed with this pattern, and to be able to cozy up with it at night is ah-mazing. So using these sheets as a base, I went searching for matching accessories.
So not to overpower the bed sheets, I wanted to make sure I used a really simple and neutral duvet cover to pair with them. I decided on a cozy grey flannel duvet cover that I just knew would be perfect for our cold winter.
Once the bed was made all cozy and warm, I had some fun adding some simple accessories like pillows and a soft faux fur throw. Perfect for a cold winters night.
I also had an extra pre-lit evergreen garland so I decided to string that along the headboard of our bed. It casts such a pretty light at night. Love love it.
Seriously though…don’t you just want to snuggle up in here? You *might* find me in here most evenings with Netflix…
And because I felt like it, I also dragged in our little Christmas tree from the front porch to add to the decor…I love how it looks in here.
I think it’s the perfect addition, no?
And as I was about to leave the store, I saw some simple and inexpensive felt snowflake placemats that I though might look nice over the bed. Originally I had a really pretty set of 3 prints, but the colours didn’t work for this season, so for now I replaced them with these snowflakes…I’m thinking maybe a couple of more might be needed…
Anyway, I’m thrilled with the way it came together…I love that it’s Christmas in our room too. It feels really nice.
And the sheets are SO soft and comfortable…I love them so much.
Thank you for taking the time to visit me here today! I hope your holiday season is a lovely one.
