Summer Master Bedroom Refresh
Refresh your master bedroom for summer with simple and easy changes like new bedding, fresh flowers and cheery art!

I am a big fan of changing up the decor in my home with each season. I love the refreshing feeling of updating colours and accessories to match the time of year. I always update our living room and porch space, but I’m also trying to make sure I update our master bedroom as well. For some reason master bedrooms get overlooked when it comes to decorating, but I’m trying to make sure that ours doesn’t. I don’t want my room to be the space where junk goes to hang out, I want it to be a fresh and relaxing space that I enjoy being in. So I really try to keep this room looking great, even at holiday time. The last couple of Christmas’s I even managed to decorate this room, but truth be told the evergreen wreaths stayed hung this year until the beginning of June! Ha! True story. Clearly it was time to bring this room into summer, and I couldn’t wait. I needed to have my bedroom space feel fresh again. And now it does…
In the spring I gave our office a refresh with some new art from Minted, and I wanted to do the same in our master bedroom. I really love all of their art pieces and just knew I’d find something perfect for our bedroom. I chose 3 prints: Soft Descension Art Print, You Make My Heart Bloom Art Print, and Day Dreams Art Print. The colours and frames are absolutely what I envisioned for this space.
I wanted bright and cheery prints, and that is what I got. Love love love love love.
Because the prints are beautifully busy, I tried to keep the rest of the decor simple and understated, so I bought a new white quilt, and 2 neutral lamps. I also added three Minted pillows: Tribal Arrows Pillow, Organic Dot Pillow and the Dalmation Pillow, which are a really nice addition to my bed. I think they work better in here, rather than my office which is originally where I had them.
Then I added some fresh flowers (I heart peonies!), because every space needs flowers! I also added a vintage cake stand to my dresser to hold all of my little trinkets like my watch, earrings and other jewelry. I have collected many beautiful cake stands, but most of the time they just sit in my storage drawer waiting for cake which doesn’t happen all that often, so I decided to put some on display. They’re a great way to display pretty things, or store small items.
I really love how everything turned out…it’s a simple makeover but it is exactly what I wanted. Less really is more. Simple changes like adding new art, or a new bed spread, some flowers or new pillows, can really make a big impact in a space.
Now every time I go in my room I feel happy. This space feels fresh and relaxing which is exactly how a bedroom should feel! Do you update your room for the season? You should because it sure feels nice! 🙂
Have an inspired day!

Very nice! Where’d did you find the lamps? They’d be perfect for my master bedroom.
Thank you Sherry! I found the lamps at Winners…they’re just what I wanted in this space! Love them

I am a big fan of that arrow pillow as well. 🙂
