Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Take a classic chocolate chip cookie to the next level by stuffing them with Oreo cookies!  These Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies are SO good.

These delicious stuffed cookies have been making the rounds on the internet for years. And years ago when I first started blogging, these were one of the first cookies I shared here! Because really, how can you go wrong with chocolate chip cookie dough and Oreos?  You can’t.

So decadent, they’re a dessert by themselves.

No, really they are. These cookies are SO good. Two of the best cookies ever, made into one delicious and flavourful treat! Make sure to serve with a glass of milk, trust me. haha

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are the BEST made with homemade cookie dough, so in the recipe below I’m sharing one of my favourite chocolate chip cookie dough recipes to use and wrap around Oreos. YES. Seriously, how delicious does that sound?!

Recipe Tips:

  • Cookie Dough: As I said above, I prefer to use homemade chocolate chip cookie recipe for these, but you can also use a pre-made dough.
  • Oreos: You can use golden or original Oreos.
  • Chocolate Chips: You can use milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Putting them together: Make sure when you’re covering the Oreo in cookie dough that you press the sides together, making sure that the Oreo is completely covered. You can even roll the edges of the dough wrapped cookie to make sure the dough sticks together.
  • Cookie Size: The whole cookie shouldn’t be any bigger than 2 and 1/2 inches. If they are bigger, the cookie will spread out during baking.
  • Chill the Dough: Chilling the dough will ensure that the cookies don’t spread out too much, so make sure not to skip this step!
  • Storage: Keep these cookies in an air-tight container on your counter.
  • Freezing: These cookies freeze well.

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Take a classic chocolate chip cookie to the next level by stuffing them with Oreo cookies!  These Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies are SO good.

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Chilling Time: 25 minutes
  • Cook Time: 25 minutes
  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies 1x
  • Category: Cookie
  • Method: Baking

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3/41 cup chocolate chips (you can add more but I found 1 cup was almost too much)
  • about 24 Oreos

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Using a stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time.
  4. Then add the vanilla.
  5. In a separate bowl whisk together the flour, salt and baking soda.
  6. Combine the butter mix and flour mix.
  7. Add chocolate chips.
  8. Chill the dough for 20 minutes.

Stuffing the cookies:

  1. Once the dough has chilled, take a scoop of cookie dough big enough to make a 1 inch ball. Press flat. Lay and Oreo on the flat dough (see picture above).
  2. Then get another scoop of dough to make another 1 inch ball. Press flat and lay it on top of the Oreo.
  3. Press the sides together, making sure that the Oreo is completely covered.
  4. The cookie shouldn’t be any bigger than 2 and 1/2 inches. If they are bigger, then your cookie will spread out during baking, and end up looking like a fried egg!
  5. Line the cookies on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and chill for another 15 minutes.
  6. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until you see the bottom edges of the cookies start to brown.
  7. Cool on a wire cooling rack.
