About Lime Jello Whips

These creamy and delicious desserts are made with just 2 ingredients: lime jello and Greek yogurt. The jello is first dissolved in hot and cold water, then it is added to a blender with Greek yogurt where it is blended together. Then transfer the mixture to cute serving cups, chill for 2 hours and enjoy!

Make it fun for St. Patrick’s Day!

If you’re looking for the perfect dessert for St. Patrick’s Day, these Lime Jello Whips are it…anything green and yummy is a winner! I made them extra cute by serving them in glass cups with little shamrocks I cut out on my Cricut (I made something similar here for Valentine’s Day punch). Adorable.

Lime Jello Whips Recipe Tips

  • JELLO: You can use sugar free lime jello (a ~ 9 g or 10 g box) OR regular jello (85 g box). The important thing to note is that the total amount of liquid with the jello should be 2 cups total (with the water added).
  • MAKE SURE JELLO DISSOLVES: Make sure the jello powder dissolves in the water or the whips won’t set properly.
  • YOGURT: We use plain Greek yogurt, but you can use flavoured Greek yogurt (like lime or vanilla). The important thing is to use a thick yogurt.
  • OPTIONAL ADD-IN: For extra lime flavour stir in some fresh lime zest before putting the mixture into serving cups.
  • LET THEM SIT! These whips need to chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours (cover them). You can make them ahead of time too and keep them covered in the fridge overnight.
  • GARNISH: Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or cool whip, and fresh lime zest if you like.

FAQs

This just happens because the mixture is made in the blender which adds air. If you let the mixture settle about 10 minutes before pouring it into serving cups, many of the bubbles will disappear. But honestly, they’re no big deal, these jello whips are delicious nonetheless.

Again, this just happens because the mixture is made in the blender and the lighter portion with bubbles moves to the top.

Make sure you let these jello whips cool in the fridge for 2 hours to set. If they’re not set after this time, let them cool a little longer.
