How to get sparkling clean floors! A Hoover Floormate Deluxe giveaway!
As a blogger I sometimes get to review some really great products (and some not so great ones), but when I do try something and I love it, I have to share it. This is one of those times. I’m seriously in love with this Hoover Floormate Deluxe floor cleaner. And I’m a cleaner…I like my house clean so I don’t mess around! So when I say I love this cleaner, I mean it. 😉
Like IN LOVE. I have never ever in the history of all my cleaning have I ever had cleaner floors. For real. My floors are literally squeaky clean…my feet squeak when I walk on them. And my floors are streak-free and SO shiny. Best ever. So it wouldn’t be fair not to share the love right? Here are my thoughts on this great cleaner!
First, just take a look at the dirty water tank.
When I first tried this floor cleaner I wasn’t sure it was even working properly because the floors were so dry after a few passes. I couldn’t figure out if the water was actually coming out. But after a few passes with the cleaner I looked at the dirty water tank and was shocked! Look how dirty the water is! And all this time I thought my floors were clean – I’m a clean person and wash my floors regularly, but obviously my previous cleaner wasn’t cutting it.
I was so excited I texted a picture of the water to my husband…true story. hahaha I live a glamorous life! Anyway after seeing that water tank I swear I will never go back to another cleaning tool for my floors.
Now look how clean and shiny my floors are. I’m amazed!
Here are some thoughts and tips for this cleaner:
- This model comes with a hardwood floor scrubbing brush and a floor tile scrubbing brush. I’ve used both and am ecstatic with the results.
- This cleaner has some major suction power – it sucks up the water as fast as it puts it out. My floors were almost instantly dry. But if you have tough dirty spots on your floors, it has the option to increase the water output for extra cleaning.
- This machine uses a cleaner that comes with it (you can buy refills at the store), but it only uses a little bit – the cleaner goes a long way, and it smells nice.
- This machine is more bulky than other floor cleaners that I have used, and it’s heavy like a vacuum cleaner (actually it reminds me of a smaller version of a carpet cleaner). BUT it sure beats using a mop and bucket. And the results are amazing…trust me.
- It’s loud. But worth it for squeaky clean floors.
- Using this floor cleaner has cut down my floor cleaning time – it’s fast.
- I would highly highly recommend it…in fact my mom has already bought one and she loves it too!

I switch back and forth with the swiffer wet mop and a norwex mop – the swiffer leaves some streaks but its way faster than the norwex 🙂
Wow! I was just lamenting that I needed a better way to clean my hardwood — love some mid-week serendipity!
Right now I am just using a swiffer wet jet, or scrubbing on my hands and knees! I don’t find the wet jet to be very efficient, and washing on my hands and knees is very time consuming! I would love love love to own something like this! 🙂
Guilty as charged if I can avoid it I don’t clean floors ugh! If I do its on my knees with a wet cloth ouch! I would love one of these your post has prompted me to go in search of one.
I sweep daily and use a mop and bucket weekly.

I use the Rubbermaid floor mop, kind of like the Swiffer but with the reusable mop head that you throw in the washing machine.

We use a swiffer when we are feeling like a quick job. Mostly, it’s hands and knees with rags and vinegar!
I would love to try this. I am currently a hands and knees tile scrubber because my tiles are commercial grade and very rough. They are so hard to clean.

I’m with ya! My floors never feel clean enough. I’ve got a shark steam cleaner, which I don’t mind – but it leaves me with a ton of streaks…so then I’m on my hands and knees buffing those away!

I use a mop and the utility sink in my laundry room. I have ceramic tiles in my entrance way, and I use a rag and elbow grease to clean them. My poor knees! lol Would love to try this, could be a knee saver! HAHA
I use a swiffer for quick jobs and a sponge mop (in the sink) for the whole house cleaning. With a teen, a 4 and 6 yearold and a dog – keeping the floors clean and DISINFECTED is a chore!
I can only imagine how the wage would look after cleaning my floors! I’m a cleaner too but I have two dogs and a messy husband at home! I would LOVE one of these!

I pretty much avoid cleaning my floors …. now that I have a crawler in our house again I have to do it more often. It is my LEAST favorite chore!

I mop my floors with a Bee mop and bucket. I can’t keep them clean enough, as I have a 14-month-old. 🙂
How tall is the front of it? Will it fit under cabinets in a kitchen?
I currently vacuum, then use a swiffer. I find it really strong smelling and I have to use quite a few for all my flooring. Would like a better, more environmentally friendly alternative.
Did you vacuum first? PS I have dogs so pretty sure I would still have to vacuum first.

Bee Mop or microfibre mop
We use a mop and bucket,wash,rinse then use a hardwood floor cleaner on a swiffer type mop.We have 8 cats and this would be amazing! Thanks for the chance 🙂

Right now a wet swifter that does not work very good, in fact I think it makes the floors look worse, but with having a bad back it’s easier for me to use, this machine would be the ultimate helping tool for me, I love it!!!!

Right now I fill the kitchen sink with soapy water and use a Norwex cloth. Wash on my hands and knees… There must be an easier way!
Wow, your floor looks sparkling! Love a nice clean home too. We tend to use our shark steamer (although I think it’s only meant for tile- oops!).

We have a steam mop, but I don’t think it works very well. The floors have a dull look to them and our feet get dirty walking on them even after we just cleaned.

I use a blue microfiber mop and diluted-vinegar spray. And it’s not really cutting it.
Oh how I would love to clean my floors on my feet! 90% of the time I am on my hands and knees trying to get my hardwood clean (the other 10% is with a microfiber mop). Tried the Swiffer wetjet for hardwood with poor results : (

We are a “on hands and knees” type floor cleaner as with anything else we always end up down there to get what was missed. I’m thinking this would be awesome!! I don’t even want to know the colour our water would be…

I wash my floors on my knees which as I get older I find hard on the knees.
I have laminate flooring and I first will swiffer dust the floor, then I will use Zep laminate floor cleaner, then I will use the Zep Wax to finish the job so if I could win this it might make my day go shorter for washing my floors….☻♥

Windex & paper towel. WORST POSSIBLE WAY, we only have floor here & its just kind of like, there has to be an easier way. Getting down on the floor to clean hurts my back so much!

I use a Bona cleaner with Bona cleaning solution. I’m honestly scared to try anything else as this is the *only* thing the guy who did our floors approved for use on our hardwood. I would still love to win this though!

I’m so glad to see a review on hardwood floors – I desperately want one of these but I’ve been paranoid that it wasn’t actually good to use on hardwood because of the water. Thanks for the mention of how dry the floors are when using it. Now, I’m guessing you still need to vacuum first, though? If it vacuumed all the crud up on my floor, too, it would be worth it’s weight in gold!!!
