Capturing Summer with the new Fujifilm FinePix XP120! #FujiSummerFun

We’re capturing Summer with the new Fujifilm FinePix XP120!  Here are my thoughts and experiences with this new point and shoot camera!  Plus enter to win a camera of your own.

This spring the weather here in Calgary has been amazing.  And for me, this means that I am outside almost every single day, taking our dog out for walks in Fish Creek Park.  It’s so beautiful down there, and I’m constantly amazed at how fresh and stunning everything looks in the spring.  The trees and plants are SO green.  The skies so blue.  Gorgeous.

When I’m out on my walks, I always have my phone with me, and I’m constantly taking pictures of everything.  But recently I was given the opportunity to test out the new Fujifilm FinePix XP120, and what better time to take pictures than on my walks!  So come with me and let’s explore a little!

Look how green everything is!  I could stare at this view every day.  I think this new camera captured what I see, just beautifully.

The detail is actually quite amazing for this little point and shoot camera.  It may be a little camera, but it is pretty mighty.  A nice thing about using this camera is that I can wirelessly transfer my photos, using the FujiFilm App, over to my phone if I wish to share an image on Instagram.  Something this blogger really likes.  😉

What I like most about this camera, is that it is made for adventuring!  The camera is super lightweight, so it’s not a burden to carry around.  It fits easily into my pocket, and if I store it in my backpack, I can’t even feel it in there.  It’s waterproof (to 65ft/20m), so I can take it out with me on rainy days.  I also can’t wait to try it underwater on our next tropical vacation!  It’s also shockproof, so if I drop it (up to 5.8 ft), it should survive better than the 2 iPhones I’ve had to replace because of me dropping them.  Ooopsie.  And another great feature is it is freezeproof (to -10°C), so I can take it with me when I snowshoe in the winter.  Woot!

I also brought this camera along last weekend when we visited Heritage Park to write a story for our This Big Adventure Blog.  Heritage Park has a gazillion photo ops so I knew I would have fun taking pictures here!

But my main goal was to get some video from the swings and the Ferris wheel!  Here are a some quick videos to show you how good the quality of the video is!  Warning…you might feel like you’re flying above Calgary!

Final Thoughts and Tidbits:

This camera was a nice change from my big DSLR camera. I plan on taking this camera with us on our many adventures and camping trips this summer!  No more lugging around my big and delicate camera.  Now I don’t have to worry so much about rain, water, sun, sand and all the things that come with having a good time!
