Freshening up my kitchen for summer!

I freshened up my kitchen space for summer with bright accents, new chairs, and some artwork!

Summer Kitchen Tour

Welcome to my kitchen…my cat says hi!  😉

As you likely know my kitchen space is my most favourite room in our home.  It’s where I spend most of my time, and it’s where I feel most at peace and where I go to destress.  Not only do I need my kitchen to function smoothly, I also like it to look nice.  In fact, I decorate our kitchen space just like I decorate any other room in the house.

Come have a look at how I’ve freshened up this space for summer!

Summer Kitchen Update

If I had my way my I would have an entire kitchen of white cabinets…I love white.  One day I will have my white kitchen, but for now I’m happily working with what I have which is lovely.  For now, to keep things up to date, we’ve replaced the appliances and I’m amazed at how even that change has freshened things up!  This year we also painted the walls, added a couple of new chairs and some accents and artwork.  And to keep things cheery and bright I like to change out the floor rugs and tea towels.  Even these simple changes make a big impact.  I’m really happy with how it’s all starting to come together!

Summer Kitchen Update

Now turning around, here is my favourite part of the kitchen, our eating nook.  I have the most fun decorating in here.

Summer Kitchen Update

This nook is my most favourite view in our kitchen, and more specifically this corner with the set of drawers.  Not only does this set of drawers hold all my linens and small dishes, it also serves as a pretty vignette to showcase pretty dishes and fresh flowers or any seasonal decor.  Then to tie everything together I added this ‘eat’ sign from Vintagebebe, and now I love this space even more!

Isn’t this great?  Sigh.

And no kitchen space should be devoid of fresh flowers or potted plants!  These seasonal pansies fit the bill just perfectly.

One of the fun finds for this space are the new turquoise chairs my friend & I recently discovered at a vintage market in Montana.  I saw them and had to have them…so we hauled these chairs all the way back in our packed-to-brim truck!  Hahaha!  But don’t they look so nice?!  Now I just need to find 3 more chairs, and I plan to paint them bright colours as well.  Thinking yellow and white!

Summer Kitchen Update

So there is my summer inspired kitchen!  I really enjoy keeping this space bright and cheery all throughout the year!  Do you decorate your kitchen for the seasons?

Have an inspired day!
