A Place for Everything, And Everything in its Place…?

A place for everything, and everything in its place… sounds good right?  In theory it’s sounds lovely. But I find I’m trying to organize and re-organize all the time!  It really is a never ending task, but with 3 kids I guess it just comes with the territory!

And like so many others, I find winter the perfect time to tackle organizational jobs.  It’s cold outside, we are housebound and the house is busting at the seams.  So off like a rocket I go, and I’m whippin’ my house into shape!

Here are a few things I’ve done!  Some so simple I don’t know why I didn’t do them before.  One thing at a time I guess.

You may remember this cabinet from a previous post.  It now houses all of my crafty things!  Love it!

As you can see this is my pan cupboard Before.
Every pan would come flying out if you tried to get anything.
Many a curse word uttered.
And this is it After.  I bought a 2-pack of cupboard dividers from Ikea.
Genius!
(Whilst installing this, there were blueberries from my Buttermilk Blueberry Muffins
being launched at me from the high chair, by Cheeky Monkey.  Landing on my back.  Nice.)
My laundry room.  I hate this room.  It’s the mudroom too.  And it’s like a tunnel with no light.
I’m trying to make it feel nice to be in.  Might have to paint it, but what colour?
I’m finally utilizing my cabinets properly.  All bottles tucked out of sight!
Added some cute art and now it feels a little nicer.

On mudroom side, finally installed some hooks the kids can actually reach.
They hang their own coats and backpacks now.
I also made new decorative initials for their spots.
In the mudroom again: now a spot for my coat, and a place to sit when getting ready.
In the playroom.  Great shelving unit from Ikea.  Holds ALOT.
Wish I had a picture of the playroom before!
Lego Before:
Lego, lego everywhere.  I curse it daily.  Step on it in the dark.
Lego After:
Found this big tool kit at Home Depot for $8.  Holds so much!
And our elastic ball!
Now I WISH this was my Pantry.  But alas, it is not.
Pantry Makeover.  This just might be my next project!
THIS IS GENIUS!  Seriously.  Amazing.  Drool-worthy.
Found at the blog:  The Decor Chick
She installed beadboard wallpaper, lazy-susan’s all down the centre,
and used pretty jars to hold staples.
So practical.  So lovely.
This is MY pantry.
I especially love all the stuff teetering up on the top shelves.
Anyhoo.  Happy organizing?

  1. My pantry is not like the pretty one. I LOVE the lazy susan idea. I have to start looking for some of those. Maybe there is hope for my space. This is inspiring. I would never show my craft room right now but let’s just say walking into it is a hazard.
