Every Day Celebrations

Know what we should try to do more of?  Celebrating everyday, regular, routine life.

Sometimes we (and I guess by we, I really mean I) can get fixated on going from celebration to celebration and holiday to holiday, forgetting to embrace the every day.  I love holidays as much as the next person, but I want to practice celebrating the every day more often.

Because the reality of it is, most of our lives are about living a regular life day in and day out, and I think it’s a lovely idea to be able to love this routined life.  Not just love it, but celebrate it!  Love our routine but spice it up with simple celebrations like dessert and wine nights with friends.  How great does that sound?  Sign me up.

Just a nice night with friends and family sharing a slice of cake and a bottle of wine, without all of the stresses of planning 6 course meals or feeding a crowd.

Just dessert and wine.  And you can keep it as simple as your heart desires by buying a dessert, or if you feel like it bake up a traditional chocolate cake, or fluffy coconut cake, or this moist and delicious Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Buttercream Icing that I’m sharing over on the Kendall-Jackson wine blog today.

  1. Cake and wine, sounds perfect! It’s easy to get swept along and miss the everyday stuff, I love this idea of celebrating the everyday!

    1. Thank you Sam! It really is easy to miss every day isn’t it? Our winters are so long here that I often find myself wishing the days away, so we’re trying to celebrate regular days more, and it helps!
