Easy & Delicious Flavoured Waters

Flavoured waters are a delicious and refreshing no-sugar drink, perfect for hot summer days! Make a jug and leave it out on the counter for everyone to enjoy.

Sometimes the most simple things really are the best.  And for some reason they’re overlooked because of their simplicity…like flavoured water.  I know you’ve likely seen many recipes for flavoured waters, but have you made one?  I often drink water with just a lemon slice, but the addition of different fruits and some fresh mint takes this simple & quenching drink to the next level.  And I love this mixture because my kids love it.  I don’t even have to promote it or encourage them to drink it because they just want to.  All the fruit and ice in this flavoured water makes them want to keep refilling their glasses…and to a momma who’s always telling my kids to drink more water…this is a very good thing.

Flavoured waters are especially great for hot summer days when everyone wants to reach for sugary drinks…I guarantee, if you leave a jug of flavoured water out on the counter, and easily accessible, it will disappear, cup by cup.

So fill a glass and feel good that you did!

This is the combo/recipe we loved…for me, the mint made this drink ah-mazing!  And the cucumber…my kids and husband didn’t love the addition of that so much, but I thought it was good.  Have fun with the flavours, and add your favourite fruits or fresh herbs…like watermelon, thyme, apples, blueberries, grapes…the possibilities are truly endless, and so delicious!

Recipe Tips:

  • Flavoured waters are always best enjoyed on the day they are made, as the fruit is fresh and can be eaten – just scoop some into your glass.
  • I like to keep our flavoured water in the fridge for one more day, but that’s about all it’s good for.  But chances are, your jug will be gone before you know it!

This is basically what we drink all summer long. I think my son’s friends have gotten used to flavoured water and iced tea sweetened slightly with a bit of honey. No pop or powdered mix around here. Such a good habit to get your kids into right from the start and I Iove your idea of scooping the fruit into a glass to eat too. Happy May Long (hope the sun comes out)!

I’d love to know where you got that amazing container. I love the shape. I like the items that sit out on my counters to be attractive.
the toaster etc gets put away after each use. so this is perfect for an item that needs to be accessible and visible to remind me to drink ti
