Today I’m sharing the last recipe in my 5 Minute Oatmeal breakfast series. If you missed any of the other 3 recipes, I’ve shared the links at the bottom of this post.
My goal with sharing these 5 Minute Oatmeal recipes is to offer delicious, healthy and easy breakfast ideas for our busy weekday mornings. There is so much more to breakfast than bowls of cereal or toast all the time, and oatmeal is a great place to start. We just have to look outside the traditional oatmeal packet and try new toppings. Anything goes. Add berries, nuts, coconut, granola, jam, peanut butter, cream…any of your favourite flavours. Not only are you making your oatmeal more delicious, but you are also making it more hearty and adding a little extra nutrition, which is a perfect way to start the day.
This Apple Pie Oatmeal has all the delicious flavours of an apple pie, but you get to eat it for breakfast! To make this oatmeal you can use a premade apple sauce, or if you have a favourite recipe you can make your own. I like our apple sauce to be chunky so over the weekend we made a quick batch to enjoy with pancakes, and I used the remaining for this oatmeal. Then I loaded it up with some Greek vanilla yogurt, chopped fresh apples, some raisins and a sprinkling of cinnamon and shredded coconut…SO much flavour.
This tasty breakfast is easy enough to make, even kids can do it! Enjoy.
