My Word for 2014

This year I choose this as my word:

Simplifya

That’s it.  I’m not putting any grand expectations on myself for 2014.  No resolutions I can’t live up to.  Just one word to help me focus for the next year.  It’s a simple word that I will repeat over and over like my mantra.  Simplify.  Simplify.  Simplify.

Simplify family life.  More quality time together.  Being less busy.  More paying attention to my family, my littles.  Because I’ve blinked and they’ve grown up on me.  This is time with them I can’t get back.  So we’re going to love each other, more simply with less distraction.

Simplify in work.  More home, less work.  Going forward, I am saying no more often.  It’s ok to say no.  Do more of what I love.

– – – – – – – – –

Simplify at home.  Get organized.  As a family…I’m enlisting the help of my littles this year.  Home is a group effort.

Simplify our free time.  Get back to basics.  Get outdoors.  Read more books.  See more movies.

– – – – – – – – –

Just simplify.  I want to remember what it feels like to sit down and not be thinking of a million things I ‘should’ be doing.  No more iPhone in my hand until 10 at night.  I’m going to read a book again instead.  No more self inflicted busyness…I’m going to be very choosy about what takes me away from my family and from simplification.

Simplify.  And I’m looking forward to it…starting now.

Because this, this is what’s important.
