Springtime Bunny & Carrot Door Hanger

My Pier 1 Inspired Yarn Carrots
I’m in a crafty mood. Creating makes me feel calm!
For the past 2 weeks, I have been staring at these fuzzy moss bunnies from Pier 1, not know what the heck I was going to do with them. They are so cute, but where on earth would I put them?
Then I remembered seeing an eclectic yarn door hanger for winter (can’t remember what blog) that I really liked. So I felt inspired to try a spring one.
Here’s what I whipped up! It looks cute hanging on my front hall cabinet, a nice little punch of colour.
And it matches my spring wreath! Bonus!
What you need:
Yarn
Styrofoam balls
Felt
Embellishments
Glue gun
Scissors
Here is a quick tutorial on how I made the carrots:

So cute. I heart yarn.

I used a 6×6 inch square piece of felt for the interior. I used pink only because it was all I had on hand. If I had had enough orange felt, I would have used that instead.

Rolled it up.

I glue gunned the corner. Now it vaguely resembles a carrot.

I started wrapping the yarn from the bottom up, securing it with glue first.

Then I tied the top of the felt tight with yarn.

Then I cut off the felt top above the tie. I also cut a small square of orange felt, to cap the top of the carrot, so no felt shows through, and also because it finished the top off nicely.
Have fun with it! Add embellishments, braid the yarn, add a rosette…go to town!
Hope I didn’t make that completely confusing! 😉
Happy Crafting!
