Like I have nothing better to do on a Saturday? No really, I don’t. This weekend it’s just me and the kids. And snow and cold.
But seriously, I do enjoy my creative time. I took some advice from my Mom, and set up a creative workspace in our bonus room, which also happens to be our kids playroom. So it’s a win-win for us. I can create, and the kids can play, plus we get to enjoy each others company!
So today, a pincushion it was. I’m getting back into sewing again, and I have always needed a place to push my pins, so I thought I would make one. Cute eh?
Taking pictures just isn’t the same without a cat in the way! |
Upcycling is great! This is one of my daughters old sweaters. |
I just cut about an 8 inch circle out of the sweater. And got some cotton stuffing from an old pillow. |
Lovely little hands holding it all together. I just tried to uniformly gather the material. |
Got out my trusty sewing needle, and hand stitched the top. |
Don’t worry about the mess it initially looks like, because you can cover it up! I just cut out a flower from some leftover felt, and hand stitched it on with some embroidery thread. |
Glued on a button, and all done! |

LOVE the print! So sweet. I just love pincushions, and all I have is the old-fashioned red tomato. One of these days, I’m going to have to make a cute one like this. Thanks for sharing … I’ll be linking. And please come join my link party anytime!
