Gifts From The Kitchen: Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Gifts From The Kitchen are the best kind of gifts! Make this Peppermint Hot Chocolate mix and give it as a gift to friends and family this holiday season!
Today I’m excited to be a part of the Seasonal Simplicity blog hop, where a group of us bloggers are sharing homemade gift ideas with you! Easy and creative gift ideas to make for your friends and family this holiday season. Thank you to Krista of Happy Housie for organizing this blog hop. As part of this hop I’m sharing a simple and delicious gift of Homemade Peppermint Hot Chocolate. I’m actually sharing 2 ideas…Chocolate Peppermint and White Peppermint Hot Chocolate.
I love the idea of giving something that’s been made by hand, with care and love. And gifts from the kitchen are extra special…it’s nice to be able to give and receive gifts that you can use even after the holidays. This Peppermint Hot Chocolate is that kind of gift. Just imagine the receiver of your gift enjoying a cup of your homemade cocoa on a cold wintery night.
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
This Peppermint Hot Chocolate is homemade using just 2 simple ingredients: cocoa powder and sugar. That’s it. Then I topped it off with mini marshmallows and crushed candy canes. So simple and delicious!
I packaged everything up in these pretty jars and finished it off with a pretty Christmas ribbon. Another great thing about this gift is that the jar can be used later as a cookie jar!
White Chocolate & Peppermint Hot Cocoa
I also packaged up a White Chocolate Peppermint version for a gift, but I bought the cocoa mixture for this one….I saw it in the bin at Bulk Barn and had to try it! I topped this jar off with mini marshmallows and mini Christmas coloured vanilla chips (which are also from Bulk Barn).
So pretty. And tasty.
Happy holidays from me to you. xo

I love the idea of homemade hot chocolate mix! And we love the Bulk Barns white hot chocolate… I’ll have to make some up for some gifts this season!
This is so cute and I love peppermint. Thank you for sharing Jo-Anna and for being a part of the blog hop.
I just LOVE Hot Chocolate!! I would totally drink hot cocoa every day if my husband would let me hehe Have a wonderful holiday season Jo-Anna!
Can you tell me the size jar (or what to search to buy jars like) you used for the hot cocoa mix?
Hi Marla! These jars are small…they’re the 16 oz Anchor Hocking glass jar. Hope that helps!
How much of the mix do you use for a single serving?
Hi Toni! I would use about 2 tbsp of the mix with 1 cup milk…then adjust if needed.
