My Favourite Things This Fall!

I know you all know my love of fall…it’s such a cozy time of year as we embrace the last warm and sunny days before the snow flies.  From September to November I almost feel like it’s a new year as our focus shifts from summer routines, decor & clothing, to fall and winter items.  From warm meals, flannel sheets, wool sweaters, warm scarves and cozy boots…it just all feels so nice.

So I thought it would be fun to share some of the things I’m loving the most this season in a favourite things post…I love to write these posts…they’re just fun.

Threshold-Flannel-Sheets

Can I just tell you how excited I am that it’s flannel sheet season?!  Squeeeeee!  I seriously love flannel sheets.  They’re so soft and lovely and remind me of the days when I used to visit my Grandma G…she always dressed our bed in flannel sheets.  So every year I wait and wait to put my flannel sheets on my bed, and now that it’s fall they’re back on!  This year I bought this Threshold Flannel Sheet set from Target and they are the bomb!  Softest flannel sheets I’ve met yet.  And look how pretty and flowery they are.  My husband tolerates them.  But he does like how cozy they are!  😉

Chapters-Snood

I’m really embracing the scarf trend this year.  Up until now I didn’t really pay attention to scarves thinking they’d be just too much fabric for me.  But my daughter started wearing scarves and she always looks so pretty with them on – they finish off her outfits so nicely.  So when I saw this Blue Heather Rope Cable Snood from Chapters Indigo I thought I’d try it on.  Sidenote…snood.  What on earth is a snood?  Anyway, me + this snood = instant love.  I wear it almost every day as well.  I like the cozy and warm feeling around my neck.  I loved it so much I even bought another scarf for my wardrobe!

Wool-Overs-Sweaters

I am loving my sweaters from Wool Overs!  I have the Waterfall Cardigan (the light grey one on the left, which is my FAVE), the Scoop Neck Jumper in Cream (it’s the sweater I’m wearing in both pictures under each cardigan), and the Aran Belted Cardigan in Charcoal (the one on the right).  I ordered them online and they arrived so quickly, and were true to fit.  I love them all, but the Waterfall cardigan is my absolute fave…I wear it almost everyday right now as my ‘coat’.  So perfect for fall.

Gone-Girl-Book

Have you read Gone Girl?  Or seen the movie yet?  I just picked up this book one day and decided to see what all the fuss was about.  Well…what a trip.  I could not put this book down.  It’s fantastic, and I can’t wait to see the movie!  Who’s with me?  (no spoilers for those who haven’t read it yet please!)

Blundstone-Boots

Yes, I’m wearing Blundstone boots again!  I used to wear them back when I was in university so I couldn’t believe it when I saw that they are back in style again.  This is a good thing!  These boots go with everything, they’re comfortable and they last foreverrrrrr.  Love them.

Saje-Pharmacy-Kit

A few months ago I stumbled upon this Saje Pocket Pharmacy when I was shopping at the mall and was drawn into the store by its amazing scent.  Up until this point I hadn’t given essential oils really any thought.  We don’t have much of an over the counter pharmacy at home other than Tylenol, so I didn’t really see the need for anything else, especially essential oils.  But after talking to the staff there about some simple things we take Tylenol for, I was introduced to this pocket pharmacy.  It contains 5 oils: Peppermint Halo, Immune, Eaters Digest, Stress Release, Pain Release.  Let me tell you about these oils.  Honestly the Peppermint Halo has been life changing for me.  In my city we get chinooks which are weather pressure changes and they can cause major headaches in some people.  I’m one of those people.  When I get a chinook headache, even extra strength Tylenol doesn’t kill it.  So the Saje staff suggested that I try the Peppermint Halo as soon as I felt a headache come on, so I did.  Within minutes, I can feel my headaches disappear.  I was shocked.  SHOCKED.  So needless to say I keep this essential oil with me at all times – no more Tylenol for me!  I also love the Immune essential oil for when I feel a cold or illness coming on.  I swear it works…I feel like it stopped my last cold in its tracks.

Ginger-Pumpkin-Spice-Candle

I love candles.  Since my kids are bigger now I can finally burn candles in the house again!  I love how cozy they can make a room feel, not to mention how nice it can make a space smell!  Right now I’m burning this Ginger Pumpkin Spice Candle from Chapters Indigo.  Smells like fall in a candle…so nice!

Victorias-Secret-Forbidden-Perfume

Do you wear perfume?  I really like wearing perfume, and have always worn it.  I like the way it makes me feel…soft and feminine and like I have my act together…which I don’t a lot of days, but somehow it makes me feel put together.  I like all different kinds of perfume, but right now I’m wearing Victoria’s Secret Forbidden Rollerball Eau de Parfum.  I know.  Victorias Secret.  But trust me, it smells so nice.  And this little bottle only costs $22.  Love it.

Disclosure…I was asked to review the Wool Over Sweaters and Blundstone boots.  But I wouldn’t be sharing them with you if I didn’t love them and wouldn’t wear them in my everyday life.  But I do and wanted to share!

  1. I love ALL of this, Jo-Anna! That Saje mini-pharmacy thing is amazing. I totally want it.

Favourite things of mine? Tea (Davids, or just plain Twinings Earl Grey), all-things-Indigo, and the Millenium Stripe HBC blanket. 🙂

  2. Love all of your picks… I have to go get that book, I heard Ben Affleck makes quite an appearance ;), I want to read the book then see that movie. I was in chapters the other day and fell in love with the candle selection, pumpkin spice at the top of the list! My fave right now, my Chai tea.

  3. Love your picks. I’m addicted to scarves right now. I’ve added the plaid blanket scarf to my Santa list and I’m dying to get my hands on the Gone Girl book. Costco doesn’t have it in stock any more and neither does Superstore. I may need to venture to an actual bookstore…. at the mall. eeek. (i don’t do malls)

  4. Great roundup! I love all your cozy choices, because that’s exactly how I want to feel this time of year! Sweaters + cowls (I just can’t say “snood”) + flannel sheets = my favourite things! And I am a Blundstone fan too, ever since my oldest worked in a shoe store and won’t stop telling me how amazing they are!
