Basil Tomato Bruschetta Recipe
This Basil Tomato Bruschetta Recipe is delicious and makes the most tasty and easy appetizer! Tomato-y, garlicky and so good.
This best bruschetta recipe is perfect for gorgeous summer weather. Bruschetta is such a fabulous and fresh sidekick for barbecue time (but really, there’s no bad time for bruschetta)! Healthy, easy and delicious.
About this recipe:
This Tomato Bruschetta recipe is made with flavourful seasonal tomatoes, fresh basil and garlic, served on toasted garlic bread. A combo that tastes like pure heaven!
Tomato Bruschetta Recipe Tips:
- TOMATOES: Use good quality flavourful fresh tomatoes of any kind: Roma tomatoes, plum tomatoes, grape tomatoes, cherry tomatoes. Tomatoes are the star of the show, so make sure to use good ones!
- BASIL: Use fresh basil leaves, they’re the most flavourful.
- BREAD: Baguette-style bread sliced to make a crostini is the best bread for this recipe. You can also use ciabatta or French bread for these toasts.
- STORAGE: Store the bruschetta (without the toasted baguette) in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
- GARNISH: You can offer more fresh basil to sprinkle on top of the finished toasts. These are also delicious when drizzled with balsamic vinegar (or a drizzle of balsamic glaze) and topped with sliced fresh mozzarella.
Serving Suggestions:
This Tomato Bruschetta is delicious as a stand alone appetizer at parties, just lay them out on a platter and let everyone help themselves. Or serve them alongside bowls of pasta. It’s also delicious as a bruschetta topping on roasted chicken.
