Washcloth Toiletry Travel Wrap
This weekend we’re shipping the kiddos off to see Grandma & Grandpa!
The hubby & I get 4 days and nights to be kids again down at our local Folk Music Festival.
I’m excited and I’m nervous. But mostly I’m excited!

So this week I’ve been busy keeping the kids distracted, I’ve been packing, baking, and doing this nesting thing I do when I’m going to be away from the kids overnight. I get all wiggy when they go away, even though I (actually all of us) really need a little fun break away from each other. It’s good for all of us – we get adult time, and the kids get fun Grandma & Grandpa time! But I still get wiggy. So nest I will…I just go with it.

One of the things I did this week was make these cute toiletry travel wraps for them (I made one for me too because they’re so cute!). I thought they would be perfect for their little vacay away!

– – –
I saw them on Pinterest, and just knew I had to make them. The original pin is an Etsy shop, so if you like them and don’t want to make them yourselves, you can buy them here at Perfect Darlings.
– – –
Aren’t they so cute?! Each of my kids picked the colour they wanted, and each of their holders will contain their own toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb/brush and what ever else they like! And because they are made from a washcloth, any water left on the toiletries will just get soaked up. So clever and so fun!

Here’s a little how-to:
– – –
Just sew straight lines where I’ve drawn the arrows (see picture below).
You will end up with 4 pockets.
Also if you want, you can sew a little ribbon on to one side of the washcloth holder,
so when you roll it up, you can tie it up.
– – –
One thing to note: be sure to make the pockets deep enough to hold a large tube of toothpaste.
I may or may not have measured these with the right sized tube of toothpaste. Just sayin. 😉
Again, good enough is good enough. The kids love ’em and that’s good enough for me!

– – –
It’s not much of a tutorial, because honestly, I just winged it.
And you can make this. If I can sew 5 straight lines, you can too. Trust me.
This is one of those projects where it doesn’t have to be perfect to be great!

I’ll see you next week (unless I pop in with a few Instagram shots from our weekend)!

Cross your fingers for a fabulous weekend for all!
