For my craft I made this Easy Birch Bark Christmas Tree Garland, and it is the most simple craft ever. It took me 5 minutes to make. But I think it’s great! And really the point of this post is just to remind you, and myself, that things do not need to be complicated or take hours to make for them to be beautiful. Sometimes you can create the cutest things with the most simple supplies…and often times with things you already have at home. I love to be able to ‘shop’ my craft cabinet and create new things. I’m actually getting tired of having too much stuff, so it makes me happy to be able to use up supplies I have already.
Last year my friend Tiffany found a box of these little birch bark Christmas tree cut outs and scooped them up for me…how great is it to have friends that know you so well! Love that.
I love adding natural elements to my Christmas decor, especially birch…it reminds me of where I grew up. So I decided to make a simple little garland for my Christmas mantel.
To make this garland I used red & white bakers twine, the birch tree cut outs and a glue gun. That’s it. I just glued the birch trees to the twine, spacing them about 2 1/2 inches apart. Simple and adorable!
Then I hung the garland up on my mantel. Look how cute it looks! I love simple to make crafts. Especially ones that take just minutes to make with inexpensive supplies.

These are simple, but beautiful, Jo-Anna! I love those little birch cut-outs! I can see them used in gift wrapping too!
Thank you Tara! And what a good idea! I should definitely use them for gift tags!! Genuis
What a simple and sweet craft, Jo-Anna. I am a big fan of incorporating natural elements, too, and I happen to love birch trees 🙂 I actually have a couple of birch bark pieces my husband collected for me recently when he was in the woods so I’m thinking a garland may be my next craft project – thanks for the inspiration 🙂
Thank you Jelica! I really love natural elements, especially in Christmas decorating! So pretty!
I do know you so well, don’t I! These look amazing! Glad you got good use out of them. I pulled mine out today too.
You really do! Love you! xo
Great minds think alike! I found some of these birch trees last year and also made a garland. I love the red and white twine you used- very cute!
So fun! I really wanted to use the cut outs in some way, and thought this would be perfect! I just love birch!
So pretty, and elegant and Scandinavian!
Thank you Barbara!
I love it! The red and white twine goes so well with the birch. Rustic and elegant at the same time!
Thank you so much!
I love birch! I grew up with 2 giant birch trees in our backyard and I honestly sat in them and read in them. This is really pretty!
I love them too…I grew up right next to a birch forest, and it was the most beautiful thing ever. I didn’t realize how magical it was until my parents moved away.
beautiful project, and great idea! I need some tree bark now…
THIS is the cutest project! I adore birch bark and garland, give me all the garland! I’m going to have to replicate this with the birch bark paper I’m hoarding – I mean saving!
Such a simple, cut little craft. They look so great. Love the birch bark.
I love the simplicity of this garland and the fact that you can find so many different uses for it! Nice job!
