Which brew did I choose? Trying the New Keurig®*Compatible Pods!
Do you have a Keurig® system? Can I just say that ours has changed our busy mornings completely? No really, it has. Being able to brew a cup of coffee in a few seconds flat is really quite amazing. Not to mention the fact that my husband and I like completely different types of coffee. I’m more of a light roast gal (or so I thought), and he’s definitely a dark roast guy. So being able to buy pods in different roasts and flavours at our grocery store, is a total win-win.
In our quest to find the perfect cup of coffee we were given the opportunity to try out the NEW line of Keurig®*Compatible Pods now available in the familiar Kraft brands: Maxwell House, Gevalia and Nabob. Try out new coffee? Um, yes please.
So we set up our choices and got to sippin. Tough job, I know.

So which brew did I choose? And which brew did my husband choose?
The results:
My husband chose the Gevalia Keurig®* Compatible Pods. He said it was rich, full-bodied and flavourful without being bitter…then proceeded to drain his mug and go back for more. This coffee the Swedish way, is available in Dark House Blend and Dark Italian Roast.
and….
Much to my surprise, I chose the dark roast of the Maxwell House Keurig®*Compatible Pods. Just a great cup of morning joe. And here I thought I was a light roast gal, turns out I’m not. I sat on my deck in the sunshine and enjoyed my cup of dark roasted coffee. Ahhhh life is good. I can see why this coffee is Maxwell House Canada’s #1 home-brewed cup of can-do*. Here’s a fun fact about the brew I chose: did you know that 7 million cups of Maxwell House is served every day? This coffee is available in Dark Roast, House Blend, and Decaf flavours, and each single serve pod of Maxwell House contains 100% arabica coffee and tastes great because it’s individually wrapped to seal in the freshness!

I just bought a Keurig and am looking for different coffees to try. My husband and I both like different coffees so this system is perfect! Of course I entered the contest! Fingers are crossed.
I want a Keurig! I love the pic of you with your cup o’ joe. You look so mischievous. LOL.
Hubby doesn’t drink coffee so to brew a pot just for me was often a waste. With my Keurig I can enjoy a coffee whenever I feel like it .. I’d be lost without it. Hoping to be a lucky winner!
We love our Keurig! No more wasted coffee at our house. Plus we can each choose something different. There are so many choices.
Have you checked ECS Coffee? They are pretty awesome. A huge selection of coffee online and in store. We usually order our coffee from them.
I think that your hubby’s face while drinking the coffee is soooo awesome. He looks like he is hankerin’ for that caffeine! Love it!
I too love your hubs expression! Sounds like some must try flavors!
We love our Keurig and my hubby is a dark roast lover as well where I am more of a medium girl! I have always bought Maxwell House for our coffee maker and instant *gasp* for down at the cottage!
Just recently got myself a coffee machine that uses K-Cups! I love it!
I recently tried the Costco brand ones to go with this and Oh My Word. It makes me want to go get a machine.
They all look Fantastic. Would love to try the Gevalia.
My husband loves nabob and I always like to try different ones!

YAY!!! Congrats!
Hi Jo-Anna,
I have a client who loves your fireplace and would like us to re-create it in her home! Can you tell me the name of the stone? Is it an El Dorado Stone or a Coronado Stone? Anything you can tell me would help! She is having a hard time finding a stone she likes as much as what is in your pictures!
Thank you,
Erin Smith

Hi Erin!
Our home builder made the fireplace (we’re actually the second set of home owners so I don’t know much about it). I’m not 100% sure what the stone is, but it appears to be a man-made moulded limestone of some sort. It’s not real stone, but it sure looks like it!
Sorry I couldn’t be much more of a help!
