A tour of the Kendall-Jackson Vineyard. This tour is gorgeous, delicious and a must see!

Last summer on our epic California-bound road trip, one of my favourite stops was the Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens. As you may know I have been working with Kendall-Jackson for a while now, making delicious recipes to share with our readers, so when I knew we were going to be in the area, I had to visit.
So on a sunny beautiful California day, my husband and I set out for the wine estate and gardens, excited for a garden tour, vineyard tour and food and wine pairings with the amazing Kendall-Jackson personnel I work with.
As soon as we arrived we were in love with this place! The main building just invites you in, with promises of a great time.
But before you even really get started, we had to take a tour of the main gardens at the front of the building. Flowers, fountains, garden paths, benches…all inviting you in to enjoy it all.
Beautiful!
While we were there the grapes were in veraison, which means that it was almost time for harvest! It was really neat to be able to see the grapes like this, as they were changing colour.
In the back of the main building, we were able to tour their most lush, full and beautiful gardens. It is clear how much effort and love go into this space…flowers, herbs, grasses, vegetables as far as the eye can see. Being someone who loves to garden, this space was amazing, I wish I could recreate it all, but with our 2 month growing season that’s just not possible! So I absorbed it all, and took a million pictures!
The most amazing thing about this site is that they are a certified sustainable winery, which means not only do they grow wine grapes for their delicious wines, but they use their own water, grown their own food, make their own honey…the list goes on and on. We were SO impressed at their innovation and care.
After our tour of the site, we were treated to the most delicious food and wine pairing. I seriously could do this every day, no really I could make this my life. It was dreamy.
The wines were delicious, the food amazing (that pork belly bun will go down in the history of some of my most favourite eats!). And the company…oh the company. Our hosts were so gracious, open and fantastic! The chefs came out to introduce their dishes and chat with us, all the staff was friendly and we were made to feel like guests at their home table, it was an amazing experience and one I will not soon forget. I can’t wait to go back. Kendall-Jackson hosts what looks to be the most amazing Farm-to-Table Dinner Series that I would love to attend…they look beyond dreamy, so maybe one day we’ll go back to do this.
After our afternoon at the Kendall-Jackson Estate, we drove over to the Matanzas Creek Winery which is part of the Jackson Family Wines. This winery is so beautiful with it’s fields of lavender. We enjoyed a flight, then toured around the estate. I also bought the most beautiful lavender spray mist here…best smell ever. I’d love to come back here too.
This was such a magical day that both my husband and I enjoyed immensely. If you are in the area, I really recommend that you go and enjoy a day here, you won’t regret it! Thank you Kendall-Jackson for a fantastic time!

Now before you go, I’m sharing a new recipe over on the Kendall-Jackson blog today! It’s a recipe for a delicious Caramelized Onion and Gruyere Cheese Tart that pairs perfectly with the Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay. Head on over and save it to make it!
Have a delicious day!
I am working with Kendall-Jackson wines to bring you some delicious recipes! But as always the recipe, my voice, all content, and opinions are mine alone. Enjoy!
GAH. That place is beautiful! I MUST GO TO THERE.
You do! You really do…wine, food and beautiful gardens…it’s heavenly!
