How to Make a Forsythia Wreath

A simple tutorial to make a faux Forsythia Wreath for your front door!  This pretty yellow floral wreath is a cheery welcome for guests.

Ever since I painted my front door green I have wanted to make a yellow floral wreath to hang on it.  And because I also wanted the wreath to be low maintenance, I decided to make it with faux flowers.  What better cheery yellow faux flower to use than forsythia!

To make this Forsythia wreath I bought a wispy grapevine wreath base and 4 faux Forsythia stems, all from Michaels.  That’s all you need.  You don’t even need glue, that’s how easy it is to put this wreath together!  The flowers come in tall stems, and I just pulled off the individual small sprigs to use.  Making this wreath all about stuffing these small sprigs into the wreath base.  I don’t even glue them in, because you don’t really need to.  I also like the option of being able to remove the flowers at a later time when I might want to make another wreath…my storage closet thanks me for not adding another wreath to it 😉

After about 15 minutes of wreath crafting time, my Forsythia Wreath was ready to hang on my front door!  I just love how it looks…it’s the perfect addition to my Bright and Cheery Simple Spring Porch.  Doesn’t it look perfect against the green?  This space makes me smile every time I come home.
