Goin’ Glam!

Update: November – I’m Finished!  Here it is!  Loooove it!
So great to wear while in the kitchen during the holidays!
Heck, you could even wear it out with a lovely pair of heels!  😉

Did you catch the Oprah Show this week with Jessica Seinfeld? It was not the best topic ever (alright it was downright boring), but I digress, DID YOU SEE THE BLACK SEQUIN APRON?!

Seriously, it was to die for. I want it. I searched for it, and it retails for $350 usd. Yikes.
See, I have this thing with aprons. I love them, I want many, many of them. So when I saw that apron, I thought they just don’t come any better than this, but alas, it is too expensive for me! Alright then, I will make my own. So I dragged my 1 year old out with me, and we hit the fabric store. Once I got there, I found an amazing alternative for my apron – faux sequin. Yes, it does sound tacky, but the more I looked at it, it grew on me. Then I started to think about how I wear aprons, and I wear them – I mean I wipe my hands on them, they get dirty, so I need to be able to wash them. This fabric was a 1/4 of the cost of sequin material, plus I could wash it, and it will give me the overall look I’m going for! Thrown on a pair of heels, and I am a kitchen goddess!
I cannot wait to get started! I’ll post pics of the final product….
