Feel Fabulous February! Part 1

Whoa, can you believe that February is here?  Seriously, didn’t I just take down the Christmas tree?
February is one of those in between months.  Smack dab in the middle of winter.  There’s no glimmer of spring yet…

But there’s no need to fret.
Let’s make a pact…let’s feel fabulous this February mmmkay?
How you may ask?  Well it just so happens that I’m rounding up some simple feel-good ideas for you!

Make a simple & fabulous coconut sugar scrub!
I try to use this everyday for soft hands…love love love it!
You are just 2 ingredients away from the tropics with this little treat!  You can find my tutorial here!

Splurge on some bold nail polish.
Bright colours are hot this year!
Don’t be afraid of colour – it’s SO fun!
If you feel as though everyone is staring at your freshly painted nails,
they are just lost in all the colour that they have been missing all this dreary winter!  Truth.
Plus, I always feel just a little more put together and pretty with my nails done…

Add some colour to your wardrobe!
You don’t have to buy a whole new closet, just a few pieces that are full of colour!
A new t-shirt, cardigan, or coat in a pretty colour can make you feel fabulous.
I recently bought the pink coat in this picture, and let me tell you that this was waaaaaay out of my comfort zone.  I usually buy neutral things because I like the security of blending in.  But I love this coat!  I feel so good in it, and have had so many compliments…go for colour!  You won’t regret it!

Put on some lipgloss or lipstick every time you go out.
Yes, even to the grocery store or school pick ups.  It will make you feel nice.

Go out for coffee with a friend.
Catching up is good for your soul!  Nurture your friendships…they’re SO important.

Listen to good music.
You can dance to it and sing out loud to it.  Music will lift your spirits!
Here are a couple of playlists I put together:  here and here.

Buy yourself some flowers.
Don’t wait for your special someone to do that for you.
You are your special someone too.  😉

  1. Funny about the fresh flowers…I took a hiatus from having them in my home for the month of January. I saw two stems of perfect hydrangeas for a mere $4, and it lightened the whole week. Some people buy lattes, smokes, celebrity rags…my deal is fresh flowers. I always pretend that my husband buys from for me, and thank him. Ha.

Spring is just around the corner because my Whole Foods busted out the seed packets today. The time is near.

    Have a lovely weekend,
    Nic

  2. Let’s see…I recently bought myself a tub of coconut body butter at Trader Joes (heavenly!); did buy a new nail polish (OK, so it’s not bold, but at least my nails are painted!); bought myself some flowers that are now in the center of the kitchen table; went out for coffee/tea last night with a friend…so I’m not doing too bad, so far! Good for you for buying and wearing a hot pink jacket – I’ll bet it looks fabulous on you!

  3. these are all great ideas but the one that makes my soul sing is the fresh flowers. I always notice the flowers in the supermarkets and think I should buy them but alas in this cold climate and a 20 minute drive home in a cold car won’t do them any good and that would make me sad. But spring is just around the corner, yay!
