I’m so excited to be adding a new feature and series to my site! I’m going to be doing more book and cookbook reviews, which is something I have wanted to do for quite some time now. As one could guess, I have quite a collection of books, but especially cookbooks. Being in this industry of blogging and food blogging, quite a few cookbooks come my way, which often get read and loved but then end up on my overflowing bookshelf which is really a shame. So instead of doing that I want to share my thoughts on books that I come across that I love, like, find intriguing or I think you might like!
So today a group of us have joined together to share our thoughts, some recipes and gorgeous photos of dishes from the cookbook, Nourish by Netti Cronish & Cara Rosenbloom, RD.
Right away I was intrigued to delve into this cookbook with the title, Nourish. Every time I make a meal for my family my goal is to nourish them, so I was excited to see what new recipes I could make to feed my family. This book is loaded with all kinds of snack, breakfast, lunch and dinner recipes that use nutrient rich ingredients such as nuts, seeds, and beans. Recipes like Apricot Ginger Granola, Crack-the-Code Breakfast Cereal, Spice Roasted Chickpeas, Thai Peanut Noodle Salad, Hearty Veggie Stew, Fish Tacos with Corn Salsa, Chili Lime Shrimp, and for dessert Banana Oat Muffins or Peanut Butter Cocoa Bliss Bites. So many delicious and nutritious recipes to choose from!
The recipe I chose to try out from Nourish, was the recipe for Fish Tacos with Corn Salsa. We have a freezer full of halibut steaks from our ocean fishing trip last summer, and I know it’s a good problem to have, but it’s A LOT of fish. So much so that I’ve been having a hard time finding new ways to cook and enjoy it. So when I saw this recipe for fish tacos, I thought it would be perfect with halibut.
And boy was it ever. This recipe was delicious, and so full of flavour. The fish was perfectly seasoned and paired beautifully with the corn salsa. It turned out so well that I can’t wait to try more recipes from Nourish. I will have to stock up my pantry a bit more though because it’s embarrassingly lacking in beans and seeds which most of the recipes in this cookbook call for.
Overall, this cookbook is a nice addition to my collection! I love the fresh, healthy and delicious recipes to choose from!
