Shellac Attack!
Ok, so this post may seem way out there, but when I discover something so great I just have to share!
(Right away I thought of you Mom – I think you would love these!)
First a little back story…
I have always loved having my nails done.
Having them shiny, and lovely makes me feel pretty, and just a little more put together!
So for as long as I can remember, off and on over the years I have had gel nails.
While I love how gel nails look, they are quite a bit of work, they are expensive,
and they can be very harsh on your real nails.
So I guess I have had a love/hate relationship with them!
But in the name of beauty, I was just recently contemplating having them done again.
But then I discovered Shellac Nails!
My girlfriend Paula introduced me to this genius idea!
Now what is Shellac you ask?
Shellac is basically a cross between a nail polish and nail gel.
It forms a very hard and shiny coat over your nails.
The tips are painted on, and the nail is covered in the shellac, leaving you with a shiny, and very strong french manicure. This nail treatment is supposed to last up to 14 days with no scratching, smudging or breaking. And best of all, they are easily removed with a salon polish remover, and my nails won’t be ruined after! LOVE!
So this weekend I finally went out and got my nails did! I LOVE them.
They were half the cost of gel nails, took half the time to do,
and didn’t require any drilling or sanding down of my nails.
Oh, and I should mention that I love shellac even more than gel nails because
I can actually pick stuff up with them…
no panicking when something like coins or a bank card falls on the floor…
…if you’ve ever had gel nails you know what I mean, LOL!
They are shiny and very strong! Amazing!
I’m hooked!
Aren’t they sooooo pretty?! This discovery was just too good not to share!
Have a beautiful day!
I love shellac too! So so shiny, and really strong. I have had it on for a MONTH before with no chipping. The only reason I had to take it off was that my nails grew so much. I also love some of the bright colors they have.
I am getting this done the week of my due date!
@my honest answer Aren’t they the best! I love love them!

@Jennifurla This is the perfect thing to do before baby comes! It will make you feel just a teensy bit more normal amidst all the new baby stuff! I say do it! Jo-Anna
Ooh la la, Jo-Anna! They look lovely. At Christmas I got a gift card to Eveline Charles to get a shellac manicure. I have yet to book an appointment, but I can’t wait to get them done. My nails don’t grow and our freezing dry climate doesn’t help with my nails breaking. You’ll have to do an update post to let us know how long they lasted.

Your nails look beautiful, but I gotta say I am diggin’ that ring! Where from?
I was NEVER a manicure gal until I discovered Shellac. Thanks for the reminder for me to get out there and get another manicure – I’ve never gotten a frenchy before, but yours is so cute, you might convert me!
Last time I had mine done, it lasted nearly 3 weeks!
Thanks for this, want to try Shellac as my own nails are weak and I’ve always avoided gel nails as it makes them weaker. x
Whoa! thanks Jo! I’m going to have to look into those – it’s gorgeous!
Pretty!!! Thanks for the tip, I’ll have to try this 🙂
WOW!! Your nails look AWESOME!! I will have to look into that. Thank you for sharing!
they look great..i have a gift cert to have shellac nails done..just been waiting for my nails to grow out a bit more. i am soooo over gel nails..the last time i had them off my nails were in the worst shape ever..but i miss my perfect french-this will be my solution i think!
So pretty! I gotta run tot he salon to get my nails done tomorrow! 🙂 I haven’t get them done for quite some time because I didn’t like how harsh it was for my own nails with the gel one. These sound perfect….I especially love the fact that I can still pick up coins on the floor! LOL Thanks for sharing! 🙂
