Creative Ideas for Wrapping Holiday Gifts!
Ok, so I have to admit something to you. I don’t like wrapping gifts. I find it a tedious awful job. Gasp.
BUT I do love and can totally appreciate a beautifully wrapped gift. I have seen some beautifully wrapped gifts on Pinterest that make me absolutely swoon. I think maybe my problem is that I’m always wrapping gifts at the last minute…like a day or 2 before Christmas when I’m totally stressed out and have no time for anything let alone gift wrapping. That is the time when presents get wrapped quickly, with no embellishments and a tag made out of the same wrapping paper. Terrible, I know.
So this year I am going to try to have my wrapping done ahead of time and thus put a little more effort into it. Sometimes all one needs is a little inspiration to get you started and motivated! So that’s what I’m here to do for you today! I’ve teamed up with 9 talented Canadian bloggers to give you some holiday gift wrapping ideas!
Let’s get started! For this post I was inspired by red, black and white! Last year at the end of the Christmas season I bought a tonne of gift wrap from Target at 75% off. Like a $1 a roll kind of deals…so I may have about 20 rolls of gift wrap downstairs right now. My husband may have thought I was crazy at the time, but he’s totally appreciating it now! 😉
Anyway, I am especially loving the red, black and white paper I had. It’s festive and a little outside the box…it’s different from what I’m used to and I like it.
I paired patterned papers with pretty ribbon from May Arts. For this gift I used red velvet ribbon and topped it off with the Candy Cane Jingle Bell Ornament that I showed you how to make yesterday.
For this present I used different patterned ribbons, and I made a silver bow from all the ribbon I had around.
When I go to wrap my gifts, I often discover that I have no bows. I have a tonne of ribbon, but no bows. Have no fear…you can make your own with this simple tutorial! I almost always make my own now because I can make them in matching patterns and colours that I like! Just grab a glue gun and follow the diagram above to make your own! So simple and pretty!
All I need to do is get my act together ahead of time this year and get a lot more creative with my wrapping! It’s the little things right?

Ooh, the black, white and red is so striking! Such pretty ribbon too! I think what I like most about wrapping gifts is spreading it out over a couple of weeks and making each one look unique and custom-made for the recipient. Sometimes at the end I just pull whatever paper is nearby and go for it!
I love these so much. That black is just gorgeous!
