Two Options for Making Sangria Slushies:
Quick and delicious:
This option is perfect when you're looking for a quick and refreshing sangria in just minutes. Basically this method is a quick blend of the mixed sangria, frozen fruit and ice. Sangrias made this way are a little more icy, but they're perfect as simple and fast summer drink!
To a blender add 1 cup of ice, the frozen blueberries and the sangria.
Blend until smooth.
Add more ice if you need. Blend until smooth.
Scoop into glasses.
Garnish with fresh and/or frozen berries, serve and enjoy!
Let it rest:
This option is great if you have a little more time and can plan ahead. Instead of using ice, you freeze the sangria mixture for several hours (overnight is best), and then blending the frozen mixture. The flavour is more intense and delicious!
Mix the sangria ingredients together.
Pour the sangria into a shallow dish (like a 9x13 baking pan) OR pour it into Ziplock bags, and freeze for at least 6-8 hours. The mixture won't freeze completely because of the alcohol.
After this time, add the frozen sangria to a blender and blend until smooth.
Scoop into glasses.
Garnish with fresh and/or frozen berries and slices of lemon and lime.
