This really is the Best Easy Breakfast Casserole Recipe! Filled with delicious ingredients: eggs, breakfast sausage, cheese, potatoes, peppers, onions, cream and spices. So simple and so flavourful.
1small green bell pepperchopped (about 1/2 cup chopped)
2 1/2cupsshredded cheese
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Prepare a 9x13 oven safe dish by buttering the bottom and sides. Set aside.
In a large skillet brown the ground sausage. Once it's cooked through and no longer pink, use a slotted spoon to remove the sausage and place it in a bowl. Set aside.
To the same skillet add 1/2 cup butter, melt. Add the chopped potatoes and onion.
Cook until the onions and potatoes are soft.
In a separate large bowl whisk the eggs until they're creamy and smooth.
Whisk in the cream, seasoning salt, black pepper and dry mustard.
Into the egg mixture stir in the chopped green pepper, shredded cheese, the potato mixture and cooked sausage.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour. The bake will be done when the top is golden brown and it no longer jiggles in the centre.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
