5
tbsp

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Pie Crust:
Sift flour and salt into a large bowl.
With a pastry cutter, cut in the shortening until the particles are pea sized.
Sprinkle in water, 1 tsp or so at a time, mixing lightly with a fork. Don't over mix or the crust will be tough.
Press into a ball. It is okay if it is crumbly. In fact crumbly makes for a tender, flaky crust!
This recipe makes 2 - 9" crusts, so split the ball in 2, and freeze one half for later.
Use a rolling pin to roll out the bottom crust.
Press the crust into a 9" pie plate.
Apple Pie Mix:
In a separate bowl combine the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Set aside.
Crumble Topping:
In another bowl combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and melted butter.
Putting it all together:
To the crust in the pie plate, add the apple filling, then top with crumble mixture.
Bake for about 1 hour, or until you see the apple mix bubbling up from under the crumble.
