Simple Evergreen Christmas Wreath

A Simple Evergreen Christmas Wreath that you can make in less than 15 minutes with simple materials you might already have at home!  Simple decor, is beautiful decor.

This year I have gone back to simple and more classic Christmas decor and colours and it makes my heart happy.  The older I get the more nostalgic I get for my childhood, and a big part of that was Christmas with traditional decor.  And I think it’s a lot that I’m missing living in the country.  I live in the city now, and while it has become home, my heart is still in the country.  So I’ve decided to put a little country into our suburban Christmas home this year, with a lot of natural elements and I’m loving it.  This week I’m going to take you on a little home tour of our living space to show you how it all looks, but today I wanted to share this super simple wreath I made.

One of the things I’m learning is that keeping things simple is perfectly fine.  In fact it’s more than fine.  For me, when I complicate things just for the simple fact that I think I need to be doing or adding more, I end up not happy with the end product…this is true for all aspects of my life, including home decor.  So when I make something that took me maybe 15 minutes to put together, and I end up really really loving it, then that is fine.

This wreath is exactly that kind of project.  I saw this wreath on Pinterest that I loved (and I cannot for the life of me find the original post, I’ve searched endlessly), I really wanted to make it.  It’s so simple and pretty.  I immediately imagined it hanging on my chalkboard nook in my entry way.

So I gathered up some supplies that I already had on hand and put this wreath together.

I love it.  It’s simple.  It’s festive.  And the little house and bottle brush tree are adorable.  I think the simplicity of the wreath works perfectly with the chalkboard and Merry Christmas greeting.

How to Make a Simple Evergreen Wreath

  • An evergreen wreath base.  This can be fresh or artificial…what ever you prefer.
  • A small string of white lights with a battery pack.  The wreath I used already had the white lights added.
  • A little white house Christmas ornament.  I found this one at Lowe’s.
  • A bottle brush tree.  I bought a pack of them at Lowe’s this year and am using them everywhere!  I love them.
  • A ribbon of your choosing, about 4 feet long.  I used a plaid ribbon, because I’m crushing on plaid this season!

This picture is blurry and it bugs me to no end, but I really wanted you to see what it looks like at night.  It’s so nice all lit up.

I’m really happy with how this wreath turned out!  Sometimes all the Christmas decor in our house can feel a bit chaotic, so it’s nice to have some simple pieces on display.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I’ve loved having you here! Have a Merry day!

You are so right… the more I fuss with something the less I like it! I love this simple little “country” wreath and it’s perfect hanging on your chalk board, amazing contrast always catches my eye! xo

I’ve always loved the more traditional colours, and plaid/check is always alright by me so I’m loving this simple but very classy wreath
