Grapefruit Curd Recipe

This fresh and bright Grapefruit Curd is a delicious addition to many desserts, ice cream or even toast!  My favourite way to enjoy it is on my Grapefruit Curd Shortbread Squares!



Grapefruit Curd:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • juice from 1/2 grapefruit (about 1/4 cup)
  • zest from 1/2 grapefruit


Grapefruit Curd:

  1. In a saucepan whisk together the sugar and the egg until smooth.
  2. Stir in the melted butter, fresh grapefruit juice, and grapefruit zest, and cook on low-medium heat, whisking often.
  3. Whisk and cook until the grapefruit curd glaze thickens, about 15 – 20 minutes.
